Re: Dosage Time

Hi all,
I am very, very surprised that you can take sub at night and then fall asleep! IME opioids tend to keep a person in a blissful state that is restful, but never actually falling asleep until the bupe lessens its effect some hours after taking it.

Re: Can’t figure out my dose. Need advice

I got dizzy reading this, lol. Seems like you are overthinking this. If you are "weak and shaky" then adjust your strategy in my opinion. Perhaps look to other things for comfort and just take it as prescribed....

Re: Adding More Suboxone for Pain Management

Wow! What a trip to see what I was doing 3 years ago! Well, now I've been stable at 10 mg for the last couple years, and have realized that even at this more elevated dose, buprenorphine is a wonder drug for the type of pain associated with arthritis. It aint gonna do the trick for a gunshot wound, ...

Re: Once, twice, or three times per day

Hello,
Here is one aspect you may not have considered. Taking the med that close to bed would be very likely to cause disruption of sleep. SO it is possible that after a few days of this you feel the crash. There is no amount of coffee that could erase all that lost (quality) sleep.

I am currently on suboxone, but I still crave n’ cave around twice a week What doses of sub have you tried and how many per day? I have found it to be even stronger subjectively than methadone was at doses of 4 to 8 mg dosed .5 to 2mg at a time. And Sub is just as good for my pain as methadone was ...

Re: Do you announce that you are sober and on Sub at AA?

I'd say AA it doesn't matter. NA on the other hand have a paper dedicated to their opinion on drug replacement, stating that people on replacement aren't truly abstinent, and passing as such doesn't go with the traditions of the program. That being said, ultimately it's up to you. https://na.org/?I...

I thought most opiates had a stabilizing effect on mood. It is only being forced into WD which is sure to cause extreme symptoms.

Re: I have terrible cravings! Afraid i will relapse

Everyone's taking about raising dose to like 16 or 20 mg. Maybe that's a good idea, but in my experience Sub can only offer a certain amount of distraction/satiation no matter what dose. Sure you get a good feeling for a week or two, but doesn't it just even out to the same thing eventually? Please ...

Your boss is an asshole! I don't suppose you could arrange an insurrection? Amy I think my boss falls somewhere on the narcissistic spectrum. What do you think? I'll give an example... Incessant talking in the office about himself when we are all trying to do paperwork, or relax on a lunch break. I...

Thanks guys I will try it in the spot you described, just to the left or right of the front teeth and see how it goes. I know I haven't been getting aS much bupe in my system with these new 4 mg strips. I have been all ever this forum lately trying to figure out the best way to go about this. One f...

Re: Increasing Sub Dose To Help Quit Kratom!

I’d recommend staying at 6 mg for 2 full weeks, then drop to 4 mg. I know you probably could drop usually no problem, but don’t incur any cravings / WDs this early quitting kratom. Just my 2 pesos. I agree :) I am just happy to have bounced to 6 right quick. 4 will come in time. It's so cool how wh...

Re: Increasing Sub Dose To Help Quit Kratom!

An update on this thread. A couple weeks ago I started to taper back down. I had bumped up to 8mg/day to assist with quitting kratom. Well that is good n done! So I am at 6mg/day, and will prob go to 4. My experience at 8 was that although it was more sedating for a week and a half or so, eventually...

Boss at treatment center said no counselor can facilitate

Boss at treatment center said no counselor can facilitate a SMART recovery meeting because of the dual relationship concept. Basically, for those who are not in the substance abuse field, he was saying that clients from my work could attend the SMART group, and that would violate a dual-relationship...

My .02, No matter what dose I have tried, after a coupe weeks I adjust and it seems that sub just has a certain feeling that doesn't change much no matter what dose I take. I tried lower doses like 4, even 3 mg for a few weeks and got depressed at times. I tried 8 mg/day for the last 5 weeks, and ag...

I have been doing 2mg 4X day sublingual, and for me the analgesic effects just build as the day goes on, but I never really suffer anymore, even in the mornings it is enough. I agree w/ doc2 that when you do it 6 times a day, it becomes a bit obsessive. Whatever works though. No one can know your pa...

Re: from 4mg to 2mg

Whenever I see a taper schedule, I guess the 25% reduction begins at 2mg? Does this mean that if I'm simply dropping fown from 4mg to 2mg, there's no need to step down to 3mg for about a week first? If this is the case, could someone explain to me what is significant about the 2mg level of buprenor...

It seems like studies indicate that sublingual is better for absorption, but I can see how cheek/gum could be better. It certainly offers a nice slow release, which is nice for pain patients.
