Short term opiate relapse, now 9 days on Subs

I relapsed for about a month on heroin after 3 years clean. I don't want a lecture please. I stopped last Tuesday and this is Thursday. I moved directly from H to subs starting on about 2mg each day, sometimes a bit more. Now I'm taking about 1mg. I wonder, can I just stop now safely? I have about 1...

Re: 7 months on, wanting off

HI everyone! I decided to check back in. It's been a bit over a year since my last post and I am doing well. Drug free without desires to return. My back issues subsided but haven't gone completely away. I think the remaining opiate use issue lingering is my ability to focus and stay motivated at wo...

Re: Weight gain

I gained 25 pounds during my time on bupe. I never had a weight problem in my entire life prior to that. It was due to sugar I think. I've lost 10 of it since.

Re: 7 months on, wanting off

Thanks for the responses! My back/leg is slowly improving a tiny bit each day. Last night I was able to sleep through the night. I took a little (.5mg) sub yesterday and it took the edge off, but probably not enough that I'll keep doing that. I have a colonoscopy scheduled for the end of January and...

Re: 7 months on, wanting off

Possible bump in the road here. I have been clear of subs since sometime in September. One week ago something happened to my lower back and intense pain is radiating to my front left leg and knee. The preliminary diagnosis is Lumbar Radiculitis. I had an MRI Friday but this monday morning haven't he...

Re: 7 months on, wanting off

It's been just under two months since quitting. I didn't have any WD symptoms other than a few nights of restless sleep. That was it and it lasted about a week. It wasn't even every night during that week, probably 3-4 nights total. My mind is a little clearer, my back pain has returned, and oddly, ...

Re: What can I expect stopping after 1/2mg 2*day after 4 mon

I started Welbutrin several months before I quit subs 5 weeks ago for the very reasons you are describing. I have had bouts of depression in the past and knew quitting subs could trigger that. So I started it prophylacticly. I think it's helped avoid the worst of any depression. I think if you stop ...

Re: Some advice from my quitting experience

HI Amy, thanks for the response. I was thinking I only wrote that to myself! Your points are well taken, I know the way I did it won't be right for everyone. I was ready, in order to save myself and my family. Really I had no choice it was either rid myself of my heroin addiction and then my depende...

Some advice from my quitting experience

I have read a large amount of the threads about stopping. Most of them are from people wanting to stop and the anxiety that comes with that, and then documentation of how it's going real time. Many of these threads document serious struggles and a lot of discomfort. I know misery loves company so mo...

Re: Help me please, way too much back and forth

I had another person tell me something like this. He'd been a opiate user for many years, and would use Subs to take breaks and reduce his tolerance. He told me eventually the subs just stopped working for him altogether.

Re: 7 months on, wanting off

Hi Jayden I read your posts about recently jumping. It sounds like you are doing pretty well and I wish you the best success. I took my taper really slow. I started at just 4mg which seems to not be normal judging on other posts. That started the middle of September last year. After a month or so at...

Re: 7 months on, wanting off

An update. I have done a really long taper starting over 6 months ago from 4mg. I just reduced by a small amount, stayed there for a while, rinsed and repeated. After being stuck at .5mg for a a couple months, a couple months ago I started breaking these little 2mg pills in half and breaking the hal...

Re: Off Suboxone 8 days

So 1/32 of a 2mg strip is all you were taking? How do you even cut up something that small? I can't imagine something that small even being relevant. I am trying to stop now and am down to 2mg/day. Do you really need to taper to something that minute? That is just .0625mg. Pretty small indeed. I'm ...

Re: Blurred Vision, Dizziness

Here's my experience. I became an addict 4 years ago as a middle aged man. At some point I needed glasses for distance and driving. As I have cut down to small amounts of Suboxone my vision has improved to 20/20. I think it's related.

Re: 7 months on, wanting off

A little update. It's been close to a year since I started Suboxone. I started at 4mg and am now at between .1 and .2mg (hard to measure). Now though, I am skipping days. Sometimes 2 and sometimes 3 days, it's when I go to bed and if the restless arms in my case start up I take a crumb and wait 30 m...

Re: 7 months on, wanting off

Update if anyone is interested. I'm at about .35mg per day and stable. I'll go to .25 tomorrow. I have the 2mg pills and break them with my fingers. So each dose in reality is an estimate and may be pretty different from yesterday or tomorrow. We are talking crumbs now after all. If the dose isn't e...

7 months on, wanting off

Hi, first time poster here. I have come off a three year addiction and started on 4mg sub seven months ago. I have whittled my way down to .5 and have been kind of stuck here for about a month now. I have not ever felt any withdrawal symptoms other than sometimes mild nausea when I first wake up, an...
