Congrats on your recovery! You need to be in mild to moderate withdrawl before start sub. Usually around 24 hours from your last fix, but more important than the time is to be in withdrawl. If you take suboxone before you are in withdrawl you could go into precipatated withdrawl and that is described as withdrawl times a hundred! You do not want to go through it is bad. You can Google the "cows scale" it will tell you if you are in withdrawl and can begin your sub, your Dr will use this to determine if you can be induced on sub. Yay tomorrow, the beginning of the rest of your life!

thank you for your reply. i am in a withdraw state right now. my only worry is that opiates will not be in my urine when they screen me and might reject me.

No opiates are coming out of your urine in <36-48 hours. Oxycodone leaves the fastest. Heroin is going to be AT LEAST three days, I'd say..same with morphine.

I can dose Sub 16 hours after Oxy with no problem, but for other opiates I would wait 24 hours.

You'll be in w/d long before your piss is clean.

Yeah you are totally fine, ironic is right it will still be in your system. As long as the Dr can see you are in withdrawl you are fine. Let us know how it goes, congrats on getting into recovery! I think you will be very happy with your sub treatment.

I wasn't, however I was in an outpatient program. I started getting really strong urges and was fantasizing about acquiring opiates. I was considering getting on the el train and going into the hood to try to buy dope, which was very unlike me. I was honest with it and the doctor put me on sub. That was about a year ago. I have tapered all the way down to 4 milligrams now. Sub made my recovery possible, it helped me more than any 12 step group did. It gave me the ability to put together my own program.
