Soooooooooo!

Just in case y'all forgot, or never knew, or never cared, or whatever; I thought I'd put a little notice up here that I'm rolling up on TWO MOTHERLOVING YEARS OFF SUBOXONE

So! Let's have a party up in here! I say we need one. We talk about a LOT of serious stuff and we bond over the difficulties that we face as recovering addicts - but we deserve to celebrate our successes and to take time to feel good about the progress that we've made.

I'm declaring (in my best Zelda Rubenstein voice) "This space has been "cleansed,"" and I'm dedicating it to all our wonderful, inspiring people, places and things. The stuff, little and big, that keeps me...and you and you and you...coming back and working hard at this thing we call life. The places you go to feel ok again, the people we talk to, the animals we snuggle, the mountains we climb, poems written, books read, gardens cultivated, meals cooked, goals set, yoga posed, whatever it might be...you know what I'm sayin.

I will try to get the party started with some pictures, videos, quotes, whatever I can find, but I sincerely hope that ALL of you will participate in building something here that we can ALL look back on when we need to find the spirit and the strength to keep moving forward.

YOU HOO PEOPLE OF THE SUBOXONE TALK ZONE FORUM! Yes, you, ALL of you...I'm talking to you. I want your imput here because without this internet message board, which has become a community, and without all of you - I don't know where I would be today. I read your words and I learn, and I am humbled, and I grow. I am sorry that I am not wealthy enough to make this party happen in physical space, but I think we can make it awesome here in computer space (ugh, just couldn't bring myself to say "cyber space" gak).

So drop in and just say hi, or ask a question, or post a quote you love, or a photo of something that helps you hang on. Tell a story of a success you've had, share pix of your pet or vacation or anything. Post something that makes you laugh, or helps you connect to your feelings in some way, like a song that got you through a hard time. If you have other ways of sharing what you love to do, what makes you feel whole, do that. Go crazy!

I love you guys (mostly) and I'm looking forward to celebrating my 2 year anniversary here in this thread. Hopefully it will be a good time for everyone :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

CONGRATULATIONS, DIARY, on your 2 year ANNIVERSARY!

This picture is of a summer retreat my husband and I took last weekend. It was a "we need a getaway" weekend and it was WONDERFUL. And boy, did I EVER need it, so did he.

And most of you know what my two dogs mean to me and how they ground me and keep me sane - wait, or is that my husband? Well, you get the idea.

Finally, thanks, Diary, for allowing us to share this momentous occasion with you. As much as you've gotten from us, we've gotten the same if not more from you. SO THANKS for ALL of your efforts here.

FUCKIN' EH ON TWO YEARS!!

I've been stocking up on Granola bars and tree bark (your favorite food!!), I'm gonna eat nothing but that on your anniversary, it's just my way of paying my respects!! Don't get me wrong, I'm gonna deep fry the hell out of that stuff AND smother it with Ranch Dressing too!

This song called Sunburn by Fuel has been a mainstay of mine all through my time off of opiates. I really, really love that song.

I picked this quote up here just a few days ago, it stunned me when I "understood" it. It says, "You never have to use drugs again." So simple, but for this here addict, SO powerful.

DoaQ, I am so ridiculously happy for you and proud of you too!! You Rock!!

Word. (I've got my arms folded and I'm givin' ya a kind of Zoolander look)

As a newbie... I'm right there with ya celebrating. And hey... tree bark sounds fabulous. Seriously, what an accomplishment and this even should indeed be celebrated big time!

:D Congratulations!!! Thank you so much for sticking around and being a voice of support and reason for all the rest of us. DOAQ, it was YOUR famous thread about tapering down to small doses and then jumping that turned on the light bulb in my head that made me see how this could be done. You probably don't even realize how many people that blog ended up helping.....

So, I am sending you some big virtual ((HUGS)), many huge thanks, and wishes for several tons of tree bark, soy milk, granola, seaweed, and organic produce. You absolutely ROCK, and I'm going to go for a walk now in your honor.

CONGRATULATIONS ON 2 YEARS AND WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!

MU-AH!MU-AH!!

SO AWESOME! Very happy for you! What kind of party should we have? Do you feel significantly different than say six months ago, etc.?

You are the best!! Great job and so happy for you!

I am thrilled for you, Diary of a Quitter! What a huge milestone!! I appreciate that you continue to hang around here and post, helping so many others, despite the fact that for you, bupe is sooooo "in the rearview mirror" at this point.
I look forward to being there myself one day and when I do get there, I will not forget the help that you and some other members here provided for me along the way!
So.....You just PARTaY away....celebrate your awesome progress.....and be ever grateful (I know you are) that you've been able to put this behind you!!

DOAQ,

You so rock this place just by staying and showing the rest of us that it can be done, and it appears that you are even HAPPY!

Two whole years off of Suboxone is one awesome accomplishment and if I was wearing a hat I'd take it off and do a little bow to show my appreciation.

It is so very critical for those of us still struggling with active addiction issues to see someone like yourself (and the others here) who were able to successfully taper off Sub. Most of us want that but it is so scary to think about life w/o some kind of opiate to make us feel good. You have proven it can be done and are able to actually enjoy life. (I hope you do!)

Thank You so very much for staying here. We need to see the success daily just so we know it can be done.

Congratulations on your big 2 years!! Party on!
