Why does dr. J recomend once a day? My doc had left it up to me and I dose twice a day. I'm sure that the answer is somewhere on this site but I couldn't find it.

Hey IrishSubs35 -

First, welcome to the forum! I have heard that Dr. J recommends once a day dosing mainly to help us re-train ourselves from the bad pill habits we had before. Suboxone has an average of 37 hours half-life so taking them multiple times a day - for most of us - is not that big of deal. The payoff is a changed behavior.

**CAVEAT ** There are many here with Chronic Pain, or have a plan for multiple times a day dose with their doctor that is important to them. I don't think Dr. J, nor anyone here would recommend changing a TEAM plan.

It's about changing our behavior - like me - every 4 hours taking pills. One and done - go be normal. That's the idea.
