On May 2nd, I retire from the Postal Service as a Driving Safety Instructor after 31 years. Carried mail for over 20 years before this. It's been a fun ride but the Postal Service is in trouble and I'm glad I can walk out before my job is eliminated.

I've been on Social Security disability since 2007, but before that I worked at various foreign car dealerships.

I think maybe some people would rather not say what they do for fear of being found out maybe? Just a thought. I'm a firefighter. I know personally if I'm talking about my addiction it's not something I advertise. The last thing I'd want to do is mess up the trust of the public I serve.

I wholeheartedly agree with IbanezRocker. Some people just aren't comfortable sharing this kind of personal information.

I have been disabled since May of 2007, but I'm planning on going back to work as soon as I can find a job (not easy in this freakin' economy). Normally I work in the social services industry, anywhere to hands-on advocacy to administration.

I have probably given enough information over the months to be identified, which concerns me because I believe if my current employer knew they would let me go (I am per diem so it would be very easy for them).
I will say that I formerly worked in polymer R&D.

Wow, there are certainly plenty of smart people on this site!! Right now, I'm 'just' a mom to three and a wife. That's enough right now! My husband's very successful and, um, I deserve at least half the credit for that!! I do have my accounting degree and graduated with high honors, so when my baby starts Kindergarten....I get to start my CPA career.
