I've been lurking on here a couple days now so i figured i would sign up. I used to use another forum but the site got relocated and kinda just dissipated. I've been on Suboxone for 2 years now. I am on 16mg a day, started at 24mg. This stuff has truly saved my ass, and while things arent all sunshine and lollipops now, they would be a far sight worse if i didnt stop using when i did. I was with my ex for almost 10 yrs and we kind of started using together every now and then but of course it didnt take long for it to get nasty. really nasty. ill try to make a long story short here. now for some reason when i was junked out i happened to land some very well-paying jobs, and that made it possible for me to buy alot of stuff and run in between all the dealers in the surrounding towns. while i was working with the union my ex packed her stuff and left one day outta nowhere. we have a one son and she did not take him with her at the time, thank god. but it was very hard for me to keep up, along with the emotional distress. ended up losing the job and totally lost it from there, started using as much as my body could take and more. i was like half-suicidal at the time, just didnt give a fuck anymore or whatever. i ended up smashing up my car and losing all my money, stealing, jacking ppl for money and whatever else u can think of. after a while i started noticing alot of DEA cars in the area tailing my routes, and i was dodging them about every day. so at that point between what i knew was gonna go down, and the extreme guilt of being a shitty father at the time, i decided to gtfo and go get treatment. and thats a whole other wild story in itself <if>. thankfully i ended up on suboxone(not of my choice) and been straight ever since with 2 minor relapses. my son and i have a great relationship and im working on my own business. anyway thats the gist of it, if anyone wants to know more lemme know. Oh, and the DEA thing, a month or two after i left, 32 ppl were busted, almost every single person i was going to, and they had me high up on that list too. a couple of the sellers/users were involved with that. talk about good timing.

Hi Cecil and WELCOME,

It's always good to hear a Suboxone success story. I'm so happy to hear you've gotten a good relationship back with your son. That's great.

I think you'll find this a great forum, full of lots of supportive and empathetic people.

Hope you stick around and post alot more.

Wow, Cecil, it sounds like you've really turned your life around. It's inspiring to hear that you have a great relationship with your son now. One of my primary motivations for getting clean was that I was a crummy mother on drugs. The Sub has really helped to change that aspect of my life, too. Please keep posting. I'm sure I and others can learn a lot from your Sub experience.
Take care,
