Sorry if this is already covered else where in this forum. I did a quick search and turned nothing up. My suboxone doctor recommended that I read "the vitamin cure for alcoholism" and adhere it to kicking suboxone. The book gives a guideline on how to detox using very high doses of niacin and vitamin c. To the tune of at least 3000 mg of niacin a day and 10,000 mg of vitamin c. Along with a plethora of other vitamins. I've been on the regamin for about a week and I have to say I feel a difference. I'm terrible with any kind of regamin so I have missed some doses here and there. Ive been on suboxone for about 2 and a half years comming from a heroin addiction. I have also back slid on heroin several times in the past 2 years. I'm sick of the sub side effects. Mostly sex drive problems, and do not want to go back to being a junkie. I want to be free all together. I'm just wondering if anyone here has tried the vitamin approach to getting off opiates.

Hi, I just wondered if you have already stopped suboxone. You said that you already started the vitamin regimen. Do you recommend starting the regimen while you are tapering?

Hi, sorry I meant to specify that I'm my OP but forgot. Thanks for asking! I'm kinda just making up the rules as I go along for now. My doc says just do what ever I'm comfortable with. I'm currently prescribed 45 8mg tabs every month. Im supposed to take one in the morn and half at night but I never do. I'll ussualy take one tab one day then the following day I'll take two tabs. One morning, one night. The past two days in a row I've only taken one tab daily and today I've taken none...yet.Its been about 30 hours since my last dose and I feel fine. I have no idea how long it takes for the sub withdrawal to start since I've never tried stopping. For now I think I'm just going to try and cut back to one tab a day and see how I feel.
