Has anyone tried the liquid taper using strips?

I wanted to check-in to let everyone know that it has been nearly five years since I tapered off suboxone and all is well. Just reading that sentence gave me goose bumps - I did it!!!

It can be done.

It's great to hear from you Bronzebeta! Congratulations on staying in recovery!

Are there any struggles you've had along the way that others should watch out for? Any tips for other folks who stop suboxone for the long haul?

Amy

Thank you for your kind response. I did have a serious neck injury since going off Suboxone, which caused partial paralysis on my left side and a lot of pain. Thankfully, surgery corrected much of the problem. I was given morphine, which I handed to someone I trusted to dispense to me throughout my recovery. I didn't really feel any temptation to over use, but I was in serious pain due to the surgery with a three inch incision to the front of my neck, so maybe that's why.

I've tried to fill my world with positive activities and refuse to compromise when it comes to the quality of people I allow myself to associate with. Those who are actively abusing opiates have no place in my life, which includes my now ex-wife. My ex has since been diagnosed as psychotic, which explains most of the hell I went through for 14 years, and perhaps it's one reason why I turned to opiates to begin with. I have continued to exercise, which is so important in maintaining a good mood (endorphins, no doubt).

If I said things were just good, I would be lying... life is great and it all started getting better the day I began taking Suboxone. And that's the God's honest truth. Don't anyone ever give up trying... you may be shocked to find out just how strong you really are.

Thanks for all this advice.
I've been trying to quit Suboxone for years now and I can't.
All Dr's try to get me to jump off at 2mg's...
I will be doing this liquid method.

Hello all,

I’ve been on 2mg for about a year and have been tapering at 1.8 mg for 6 days now. I have not felt any withdrawal symtoms, which is great. I make the solution for 5 days, using distilled water and store the bottle i room temperature. I read that it’s recommended to store it in the fridge, but has anyone actually noticed any degrading of the solution when kept in room temperature?

I’ll continue to keep like i do, and i’ll report if i feel that the solution is loosing it’s strenght.

Cheers for this brilliant taper method!

I wouldn't expect to see any degradation, certainly not in that length of time.

The liquid method worked great for me and it can for you. Best of luck!
