Hi my name is Will. I've been on subs for 6 months now. I wanted to use subs to get off of oxycodone. I do not wanna go in explanation and be another one of those "I've done 15 oc 80's a day" and barely feel it. Nah. I'm past that and now trying to get off a different train. These subs. : (

Well i was on 12mg and still currently prescribed this. But as of yesterday and today i have been dramatically decreasing my dosage. and I am on 2mg currently. Waiting to stable out on 2mg for about another 5-7 days before dropping to 1mg. After getting to 1mg i am hoping to stay there and become stable for a week. From here, i do not wanna keep drawing it out and taking specs of sub under the tongue when i'm most likely not even getting a dose. Just placebo.

What do you guys think? Any comments are welcomed! Knowledge is power.

Hi Will,

I think you should go for it if you think it will work for you. I went from 8mg sub to 4mg overnight. I had no problem except a week of being tearful/crying. I am staying at 4 for a while......maybe another year. I am in no hurry to get off. I love my sub right now and have no side effects at this dose.

I guess i would advise you to be flexible (unless you have a deadline where you have to be off). This big drop you did might hit ya hard and it would not be the end of the world if you had to take an extra mg. I think sub is pretty strong and has an effect in the microgram range. Doctors do give these low doses in surgery and for pain. People on here have tapered in the micrograms and have said they felt their doses were not just a placebo effect. But im sure you know that....also i really have no clue since I have never done it.

Any way I dont think this is a terrible idea.....I would love to hear how it works for you. Let us know how it goes!

HELLO

I think you can do ANYTHING you put your mind to!!!!!!
really, with a lil determination, and a positive attitude like you seem to have, GO FOR IT!!!!

actually there are lots of stories in the in the stopping suboxone, bupe in the rear view sections, of people that have jumped from 4mg or 8mg and even more.

http://suboxforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=5965
here's the story of a guy who jumped from about 8mg.
he really did a good job of reporting progress, and brutal honesty. He didnt whine or complain , just explained what he was going thru, what he did to help, ETC.
I think he went to work just about every single day, too.
Anyways, its a long thread,
but well worth the read when you have some time.

good luck my friend.
you should look into some comfort meds, to help with sleep and diarhea.

Anyways, I dont think there's anything wrong with your taper plan.

I admire you, for putting a plan together.
Remember though, if it does indeed get too rough for you, cuz everyone's experience seems to be sOOOOOO different,,,,,,,,
if you end up taking a lil sub to 'take the edge off' or whatever dont look at it as a failure. does that make sense???
it's good to keep an open mind, becuase we are ALL So different.

OK, I'll stop rambling.
Good luck
keep us updated.
its great for others,,, to have something to read, know what to expect.

THANKS
