Hey folks,

My wife and I are traveling to Key West in the spring. We plan to be there for two months. My local doctor will write a prescription for the first month, but I'll need to find a physician down there willing to prescribe for the second month/ My local doc has also agreed to write a letter on my behalf indicating I'm a legit patient working on my recovery.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I don't expect I'll be lucky enough to find a doc online but anyone how's had a similar situation it would be great to hear who you handled it. I did a quick Internet search and
there are at least half a dozen bupe physicians listed in Key West.. I suppose the next step is to just start calling around...

Many advance thanks,
Godfrey

Wow-- that's surprising that there are so many docs registered there. One caution-- many of the directories and databases are sorely out of date- so start looking sooner rather than later. Hopefully someone from area will stumble by and share a name or two!

Have you had a chance to try out NAABT.org that I recommended previously? It's worth a shot, and there isn't any calling around required, "set it and forget it".

Also, I think your doctor writing a letter is helpful, but wouldn't most Dr's offices require, or at least suggest that you bring your medical records over? You should probably have your Dr's office send you your medical records to print off, and have them be ready to fax over your records directly to the new Dr. I've never been to a clinic before, so I'm not sure how it works there, but I would hope you have some type of medical record (or maybe addicts don't want a record? That would make sense actually)

Good luck!

Hey noob,

Yes, I did register and go through that process but so far nothing.

Meanwhile there's decent chance I've found someone close to home willing
to take me on as a bupe patient and to write a refill for me while away.
I'll let you know if that comes to pass. ALL things considered, it's better to
find a doc up here to take care of it...

Thanks for your kindness.
G
