What are you coming off of? It sounds like you're ready to be induced right now by the sound of your symptoms. But I'm sure your doctor will only do it his way so you'll have to wait it out one more day. My brother was made to wait 3 days coming off Oxy's. That was terrible for him and it didn't need to be that long as we've learned through the years.

And yes, you will feel not only good again, but normal. In a weird opiate w/no high way.

See if you can just lay low and get as much sleep as possible, that is, if you can at all.

Hang in there, it will be over soon!

I'm leaving the doctors office, and they gave me an 8 mg strips while I was there. I am simply amazed at the difference in how I feel. To be quite honest, I was very worried that it wouldn't work the way that everyone had told me it would. The difference in how I feel is nothing short of a miracle. The miserable day and night i had yesterday was so worth it. I came so very close to caving last night, and i am so happy I was strong enough to make it through! Thank you again and again my new found friends for giving me the strength I needed when I didn't have it myself. I feel like i have been set free. No longer under the bondage of living from dose to dose. Thank you for your kindness and all of the encouragement!

Great news! I know it was hard to keep from worrying that sub may not work the same for u as everyone else but now u see just what a blessing this medication is for addicts. I still, after yrs of being on it, wake up grateful that I don't have to face another day of being in active addiction.

It'll still take ur body about two weeks to get completely used to the sub. But ur Dr started u on a great dose, 8mg seems perfect for u. U may get a little drowsy for the first little bit but that will fade as time goes by. And do like razor said, read through the forum and get familiar with everything. Good luck on this wonderful journey :)

Hey moving - So glad you stayed strong and made it to the doc for your induction. I was in the same boat only six days ago and the result you speak of is the same I experienced.. free at last. Way to go!

Here is the link to the blog.. keep up the good work.

My first day without feeling the panic of running out of meds, finding a reason to run to town, and just enjoy my family and home! What a liberating feeling this is. I am amazed that there are no ups and downs. I have felt the same since i left the dr.'s office this morning. I don't understand why it is so hard to find a dr. In my area who will prescribe this. I'm sure there are negatives, but it has to be healthier than the life I was leading. I am looking forward to my job tomorrow and having a normal day without the quick running to restock and make it through the day! My only worry is being able to sleep. I'm not a good sleeper ever....But, at least I will be feeling good while I am trying!!

Congrats movingup

There are some folks that cave before their appt. I am happy you held out! As others have said, the transition takes a couple weeks. That doesn't mean you will be in w\d's, just that you may feel weird. It's hard to explain.

Congrats on your new beginning

Good on you !!!

I am so proud of you for lasting the distance. I knew you would be happy once you got through the appointment. It is daunting but now you know what we were all going on about hey. Because im an addict and cannot trust myself, I love the fact I cant just go and use on top of sub. You have to wait a certain time and by then the want would be gone. Its just a real life saver for me,
Have a great day at work, knowing your not doing anything illegal now and simply being medicated for an illness.

Congratulations, pat yourself on the back.
