I have been on some form of Sub for a year now. First 6 months were on the film and then insurance made me switch to the generic sub-lingual tablets. I had been on hydro for 6 years and the last year I had really upped my usage so that it scared me and my family. I put myself into a rehab center to get off the hydro. They introduced me to the Sub. I have long term health issues like rheumatoid arthritis. Therefore, my pain is not going away. What is the longest time that anyone has been on some form of Sub? I suffer from the usual side effects but it does allow me to function with pain - I still have to work so I don't foresee being able to taper off any pain meds. What have others done for on-going pain issues?

Giving this a bump, hopefully someone else will pitch in.

I don't really know anything about this topic. I was on Methadone for several years, and I thought it was pretty useless for dealing with pain, except minor stuff. I read somewhere that after a certain point, long-term opiate use can cause greater sensitivity to pain, but I have no idea if this is really true.

Thanks Johnny! Do you take Sub for your pain now? This generic version does not work as well for me but I have no other choice. Thanks, Tee 8)
