Man...the time is quickly coming to make my jump and I am excited and scared at the same time, not to mention highly motivated. I'm down to 2-3 mg from my most recent dose of 4. I had approx. 2 weeks to taper as fast as I could but with having to work, it's hard to mask the symptoms of WD and the crippling fatigue (if I don't dose in the AM, I CANNOT stay awake) so I don't think I'll get under 2mg. My starting dose was 16 and for most of the time (3++ yrs), I took 8. Today is Sunday and as of this coming Saturday I have off for 10 days from work. I'm thinking to take my last dose Thurs. and power through work Friday then have off. I want to be out of the woods by day 10 with the acute stuff...I hope. I see my Dr tomorrow morning to let him know and to get some "comfort meds". I'm thinking definitely Clonidine and I'll see what he recommends. I have to do this now as I've been waiting for this window to open up where I can be "sick" and be done. I got a new job as well so during this time I'm putting in my 2 weeks notice and starting anew 1st Mon in Nov. It's now or never ... I will prepare this week so my mind is somewhat clear to focus on the task at hand. I have to get a urinalysis for my new job on Wed and I hope there's no testing for Sub. I am going to work as a PCT (CNA) in a local hospital. It is my clean start that I need. I will keep everyone posted as reading through all the success stories have given me hope that it can be done and I can do it too...

Hi Melissa, taking your last Subs dose on Thurs and powering thru your Friday workday could be a good plan, I did the same thing and I was glad I got that one day head start.

The first couple days were the toughest for me -- totally manageable, but heavy going in physical terms. Mind you, I jumped from a much lower dose, and I was pretty much into w/drawal by the time I reached my last dose. Anyhow, with 10 days off, hopefully you'll be thru the worst of it by the time you go back to work.

Don't know if you've already prepared in this way, but a good jump/detox regimen will really help. Good diet, lots of vitamins and other supplements, and -- above all -- some sort of exercise program to keep up thru your detox. I missed two days of exercise immediately following my jump, but then forced myself back into the pool/gym, and it really helped.

PM me if you want a good link about diet and supplements, or if you have any other questions. Keep posting! That really can help too. Good luck!
