The last time i took any Diazepam was 26 days ago, thats when i started suboxone(pre induction)... My use before hand was 10mg 3x a week(would use to help me sleep), and the week before induction i started weaning down my opiates, so i started taking more Diazepam to help with withdrawal and sleep, i was taking 20mg a day for about a week to a week and half... Anyways, im still testing positive for benzos, i brought in everything i could find online about how Diazepam metabolites(reputable sources) can stay in your system for WEEKS, to no avail(it didn't change his mind on it at all, but i hope it showed that i was concerned it was still showing up).

He sent my urine sample off to get further testing(gas chromatography mass spectrometry). Im assuming(hoping) that it will just show Oxazepam(which is a metabolite of Diazepam and what sticks around), this will show my doctor its just "left over" and not that im currently taking any...

The point of this post, is that im just freaking out, i mean its only be 26 days, but i think im doing good, im not having any cravings, and im actually getting work done.. But this whole mess, is just making me depressed, giving me anxiety(something i never really had, even pre opiates), and just plan worried that he might pull my script when i see him again next week.

With all that said, can anyone give me any advice? ... I think i could offer giving a cheek swab? i offered to do a blood test, but he didn't really seem like that would prove anything... I thought about making a appointment to see a psychiatrist, so he maybe can weigh in on the issue. But i dont think ill get a appointment before next week.... Im just worried, im gonna end up back on opiates to stop the withdrawals. Which would suck. :x

Didn't mean to write a book, thank you for those who read.

HI Dr. Pepper and welcome to the forum!

It is my understanding that Benzos can stay in your system for 30 days. As long as you really haven't been taking any, I would not worry about it.

have you thought about something that you are injesting that may cause the drug screen to give you a false positive? I know there are certain over the counter medications that can cause this. I don't know all of them but I would certainly google it just to make sure you aren't taking something that will cause this problem. Either way, that is why they have a lab is to investigate further and to clear your name !!

I am sorry you are going though all this stress. Give it a few more days, and when you go back in to see the doctor, I am sure it will be fine. Good luck with everything.
