Way cool video Mama, thanks for sharing. I especially like the lyric "You're going to reap just what you sow".....so, so, true! Keep sowing those good seeds today!

So after posting that last video with all the cameos, it reminded me of another one of my all time favorites: Johnny Cash's "God's Gonna Cut You Down". It was made after he passed, obviously, but there is all kinds of rock star/celebrity badasses in this viedo (except Kanye West). Romeo, if you're reading, go for 18 seconds this time!

Mama said, " I think you're the only person on this forum so far that I feel comfortable talking smack with!"

Well, seeing as your comfort is of the utmost importance to me, you now have my permission to be as big of a smart ass to me as you'd like!! (please take it easy on me, I bruise easily!!) :D

This little quote helped me through some rough times:

Pain is temporary. It may last for a minute, or an hour, or a day, or even a year. But eventually it will subside and something else will take it’s place. If I quit however, it will last forever.

I hope you have a better day today.

I'll check out that link in a sec. Have you heard Nine Inch Nails remake of Johnny's Empire of Dirt. Holy Wow!!

Thanks Romeo--I'll take it easy given your fragile state. Love the quote; I'm a quote person myself. Here are a couple of my favorites:

“If I got rid of my demons, I’d lose my angels.”
― Tennessee Williams

To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people
and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child,
a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.

Ooooh, I love sharing quotes, here's one of my favorties.....don't eat yellow snow. Simple, but so powerful.

BTW, made it 58 seconds into God's Gonna Cut You Down. How's that for progress?

Oh, I just watched the NIN remake of Hurt....the Johnny Cash version is better!!

I just took a pic of this one from my phone (rather than type it out). It's from my adopted version of a "daily reflections" book, titled, "The Tao of Healing".

The book contains some incredibly inspiring, and thoughtful pages. And was what's really something of a mind blower to me, is that the author, Haven Trevino, was at death's doorstep when he wrote it; in the final stages of Lou Gehrig's disease.

Thank you Romeo, rca, and boop for your thoughts and quotes. Romeo: you amaze me with your profound insight in regard to snow. rca: thanks for being my cheering section since day 1 on this forum. boop: love what you shared. I used to do something similar to a "Daily Reflections" as well, and that reminded me that I should start doing that again--starting my day off with something positive and insightful.

Day 5 Sub Free - Morning Check-in: Slept about 4-5 hours last night. I seem to wake up every morning feeling like hell until I get up and start moving. Like literally rolling out of bed and walking to the kitchen starts making me feel better. I can't believe it's almost been a full week! I was so scared to start this process and now I believe the worst is behind me. I definitely don't feel well, but I am functional and grateful that I am capable of getting up and getting out. Going to get going and get some morning exercise. Til later...

PS: I seriously suck at hitting that "Submit" button! There's a bunch of posts that I put some deep thought into while typing them out, then didn't hit submit! I think these meds are turning my brain into mush. I am going to start easing off of them this weekend.

That was my concern with prescription comfort meds, thats why I skipped them. I read a few posts on here about people feeling cruddy after taking clonidine or dragging ass because of it. I did some serious ass dragging on my own, cant imagine having the weight of medication on top of that. I know a huge amount of people swear by clonidine or zanax during withdrawals but I am glad I skiped them. The lead suit feeling is horrible and I finally got rid of it. Also wish I skipped the immodium and just let the bathroom issues work itself out because after I stopped using it, they came with a vengeance and my stomach is still funky! As boop said "poo stew" x_x lmao

congrats on day 5!!!!! You are doing it!

mama said, "Romeo: you amaze me with your profound insight in regard to snow." You're not the only who has uttered those exact words to me, probably won't be the last either. When it comes to yellow snow, I'm the man. PS--yellow snow tastes like dog piss for some reason? :?

Congrats on 5 days, keep diggin', Bud!!

PS---TGIF, bitches!!! 8)

Every time you say "mama said" it reminds me of Adam Sandler in "The Waterboy".
