Question:

My plan is to go from 140 mg of oxy daily to sub (after 24-36 hours from last dose).

Should I have tapered lower on oxy first and will it matter? I have a hard time doing that, but could If best.

I think at that amount of oxy, you should be able to make the transition to Subs without having to taper any lower. I would wait the 24-48 hrs and look at the COWS scale for when to start suboxone. But I think you should be fine to make the move.

Great choice in getting on this life saving medication. My life changed so much "For the better" once i made the switch to subs. THings just started to fall in line for me.

I would recommend having some sort of recovery to do in combo with the subs. Like going to meetings or counselling. Even helping others on this blog helps too.

Just saying it helps so much when you learn more about addiction and recovery while you start the medication. The combo of Recovery Work and Suboxone = success!

Good luck and let us know how you are doing with the transition

I was taking about 150mg oxycodone a day some days more. I waited 32 hrs before taking my first dose of sub and I felt almost immediately better. I don't think there's any reason to put urself through tapering down just as long as u wait long enough before taking the sub...u should be fine. Good luck!!
