I have been taking 8 mgs. of Suboxone for 7 days. I am wondering, considering I have not been on the Suboxone long at all, and my last dose was 15 hours ago, can I use a 100mg. Fentanyl Patch? Will it work, or will the Subs make it a waste of my time?

I'm not sure if it will work or not, but I wouldn't try it unless I was desperate and had used to 100mcg patches very recently. I would up in the hospital on those things and might near died. Are you in chronic severe pain?

Thank you for your help.
My husband is tolerant, so I am not so worried that he can't tolerate the patch. He is in chronic pain and although this is a strong medication, we will be very careful to watch for any problems.
We are more concerned that the price of the prescription would be a waste of money if the Suboxone is only going to block it, making it useless for him to even take.

I'm sorry to say this, but it's my opinion that the sub might indeed block it. Or at least you could get less pain relief from it than a non-sub user would. I know that's not what you want to here. Good luck and feel better soon.

I agree. I think the patches may not be as effective. Are you both gonna be on the patch?
