My brother is on Social Security Disability Insurance for an unrelated mental disorder and he is currently trying to quit heroin and is interested in suboxone. Will SSDi cover suboxone or is it a bad idea to ask? Could his SSDi benefits be hurt because of his presription for 'rehab' mediciine?

Is he covered by Medicare or Medicaid? I believe they cover suboxone. I'm on SSDI, which is just income, it doesn't cover insurance itself. His disability income shouldn't be put at risk for seeking treatment. Mine is unaffected. I'm not sure if this is what you're asking or not, but I hope this helps.
