I have been clean for 2 years from roxys.. I recently relapsed and my husband asked me to try a suboxone doctor. I've been taking them religiously every morning and throughout the afternoon and another half at bed time. I'm taking 12 mg of subs daily. Is that a lot to take? And when should I try to wean myself off of them? I think i came off subs too quick the first time and maybe that was a cause of my relapse? Please help :)

12mg is a lot to take, Suboxone is a very strong drug...but you shouldn't worry about quitting within a certain time frame. Wean slowly, there are a multitude of threads here discussing the steps people have used with minimal discomfort.

Hi Tiffany,

Welcome to the forum! I wanted to let you know that I moved your post from the Members Only section, here to the Introductions. It's no big deal that it was there as there are no rules about where you can and cannot post certain things. I just thought it would get more attention here and therefore more responses for you.

Again, a great big welcome! I hope you will enjoy looking through the current topics, feel free to post away!

I agree with Jonathan that now is not the time to worry about when you're going to taper. Right now I think your focus should be on stability and being there for your family. I was on 16 mg when I started on suboxone. It's individual process to find the right dose for you, but for now, keep your opiate receptors saturated with the suboxone. If, in a month or so, you are thinking you may be on too much, go ahead and drop down 2 mg and reassess.

I wish you the best! Welcome to the forum and feel free to ask any question you need to.
