So I have an appointment on the 19'th with my sub doctor for induction & he has said to abstain clean for 2 weeks due to having to take a UA(Urinalasys). He said the results of the UA don't matter. Is he just trying to get me to be clean for two weeks so he can say that I don't "need" subs? I'm nervous because I really do need subs to get off of this crap I'm on. So far day 1 clean and maybe I'm just being paranoid.

Hi! I'm sorry, I had to read that a few times to understand. So you can't have subs until after ua? That's what I got out of it, I'm not a doctor but I've never heard of that before and also doesn't make sense to expect you to go two weeks with nothing with no relapse. Am I understanding properly? If so, I would look for a different doctor.

You read correctly pugmomma(sorry for the sloppy post) he's only in office once every 2 weeks. He's the only sub doctor close to where i live.

Oh no not at all, you weren't sloppy I just don't understand your doctor. So you have to wait two weeks just cuz he's not there?

You know what? I think you're fine and that youre doc is just inexperienced. My doc gave me tramadol and offered me ambien for sleep for those couple nights i waited to be induced. But that wasnt a 2 week wait like in your case. Since your doc has accepted you as a patient but he wont be able to see you for another two weeks he is just convering his own behind by saying "dont use for two weeks". It probably sounds weird to hi to say "keep using for 12 dayd but stay clean for the last 2 so we can induce you". I think he probably just had an appointment open at that time. He should have just waited to see you in two weeks to discuss te induction. Your doc then tells you that the urinalysis doesnt matter *wink wink* because he really means it.

I dont think docs have time to play head games like that. Basically he doesnt feel comfortable telling you to use up to two days till the meeting. Nor do i really but i thnk you will be fine as long as you dont use for whatever leng th of time necessary for a heroin induction. Congrats for getting on subs!

I totally agree with Dhalia s post, I don't think you have a thing to worry about.
Glad you have made the step towards recovery and suboxone. You may have a fine dr there after all.
If you can, slow down on the opiate s that you are taking now. This way your induction can going smoother.

Reminds me of that old joke:

Man to sexy pharmacy worker: Excuse me, but do you have talcum powder?

Sexy pharmacy worker: Sure! Walk this way....

Man: If I could walk THAT way, I wouldn't need the talcum powder!

Ba dump bump!!
