I could have taken the script to the pharmacy, filled it, and never even had an ounce of desire for it. It could have been right there in front of me..on the shelf in the kitchen...and I would have never wanted it. In all my years in AA, I could never say that.

I can back you up on this. I quit 6 1/2 days ago now, without running out of supply. I ran out of H but I still have about 30 vicodins in my stash. Since my first Suboxone dose to today I haven't had even the remotest desire to touch them, and nobody would even know if I did, nobody is going to test my pee, there would be no consequences. As long as I'm on Subs it feels pointless. But I know I better get rid of them before I go off... if that ever happens.

It worries me about myself that I cannot bring myself to do that. But I have time, just talked to my doc he said it'll be a minimum of 8 more weeks before he even considers starting to taper. And we agreed I'd probably be on it a lot longer than that because I can't imagine the cravings going away by then.
