First off, Just want to say that I'm new to this place, but have already found a wealth of knowledge.. Now it's time for a bit of backstory about me and my opiate journey.

Opiates have been in and out of my life for probably the past 4 years... my heaviest use has probably been that last 2 years.. though I've gone cold turkey twice from taking 30-60mg of oxycodin / percocet a day and went cold turkey got clean and stayed clean for about 2 months... now I understand the docs ideas about going to NA meetings for the rest of your life.. Soo soo easy to relapse.

Anyways, the last year Ive probably been back on the wagon taking on average of 20-30mg of perocet to maybe 10mg of Methadone a day to get by...

Then probably the last 3-4 months I had been getting into playing with 80mg OC and doing 1 to 2 of those a day and finally said enough is enough.. started taking subs to get over that, ran into some bad people started doing OC again and really had a big eye opener the last 2 weeks and have been on 2mg a day sub to get out of the OC habit.

As of now I'm on 36 hours of not taking Subs and feel fairly okay.. I've been reading that it takes about 76 hours before I feel acute withdrawl, but I know in the past I would feel 'withdrawal' within 24 hours of taking my subs... so I'm hoping this WD journey wont' be so bad. By tonight at 7pm it will be 48 hours without any subs and so tonight I feel will be the true test of where this journey is going.

Overall this hasnt been as bad as when I've gone cold turkey with other opiates... that really sucked....

So I'm hoping with my low 2mg dose and some persistence I can make it over the hump and in a week or two I will start to really feel the recover.. it just scares me because lots say after 72 hours it's going to get crazy wicked WDs but I kind of think thats wonky.. so I guess by tomorrow at 7pm I will truly know..

Anyways.. just thought I'd get my story out here and just wish me luck and I think I can do this..

Yeah, it can take several days to really feel it. Having a positive attitude will help. I would do all the regular things that you do during detox- gatorade, immodium, hot baths, and lots of walking.
What is your plan to stay clean though? Keep posting- it helps!
