Glenb,

You can ask as MANY questions as you like. Ok?
This is what we do here . Trying our best to get the truth
out on all things related to Buprenorphine. So..your question
i cant really answer. Either they will help you with this or
they are a total abstinence rehab with a heavy dose of meetings
with the hope that you join a 12 step group.
Really it comes down to one or the other. A little of both would be the best imo.
Get as much as you csn out of this rehab as loug as your there.

By your question it seems you are having trouble looking for a sub dr?
You are in a large city, have you tried calling around to find one.??

Thanks ; )
I have been looking around online starting w the links on here. I have an appt w the rehab today which I will actually probably say no to. Im 24 yrs old. My stern father will be VERY pissed. But I am an adult!
When I start calling sub doctors around me...what should I be prepared for? What will they need to know over the phone? I want to ask them if they can see me right away (same day or next day possibly). I know not all sub doctors can see patients right away. Or soon enough. So if they say they cant should I just keep calling around until one can see me very VERY soon?

Glenbee,
Why are you now saying no to rehab? You can learn so much there. It could be good for you.
Id really think about that Glen.
Let me tell you this too, just finding a sub dr an just taking sub isnt really recovery.
Rehab is s place to rest, and learn. Ya there will be 12 step principles taught. Good.
Idealy doing both in early recovery gives you the best chance of finding real recovery.
I dont know your whole story, but most are all tbe same. We ve all been there.
I ll tell ya this, had i not been exposed to therapy, meetings plus my sub clinic drs and staff,i wouldnt be sittng
here today with 4 months clean. Amazing to me.
You can do this, all of it, but take it one step at a time Glen, dont limit yourself.
You say family is pissed, i bet he is. He wants you to sucessed. Having family
thats cares is great. Your lucky tbere.
You are an adult yes,and its your choise, but ya know, rehab is expensive and for good reason mostly.
Wnen you go to this app today, goin withan openmind. See what its all about before you say no.

When talking with sub drs and staff a number of plans csn pop up. It all depends on the dr. There really
isnt a standard. Oh there are rules to follow and such.

Over the phone tell them the TRUTH. ALL OF IT. And why you feel you want Buprenorphine treatment. They will understand.
It is hard to impossible to get in anywhere That same day. You could get lucky but....
Call as many as possible. Get on waiti g lists, call back often, you can jump in sometimes this way.
Contact is key.
But one more thing Glen, be opened and honest. ..razor
