I want to report that yesterday (the 24th) was my 7 month anniversary of being on sub, my birthday, and the day that I've made it down to 8mg/day from 16mg/day!! I'm proud that I've turned my life around, I'm not bummed that I turned 41 yesterday, and I'm happy that I've made it to 8mg without any discernible withdrawal symptoms.

At the risk of seeming obnoxious: YAY FOR ME!!!

Amy

Amber is right, this is a huge celebration.

And that you made it to 8mg from 16mg. I'm struggling with getting to 12mg from 16, so you give me hope that I can do it.

Congrats !

Hey Razor,

Thanks for the congrats! This is my tapering journey so far. I was on 16 mg for five months. At the end of Feb. I dropped down from 16 mg to 12 mg. I was on this dose for two months, although I suspect I could have done this more quickly. At my appointment in early May the doc dropped me to 10 mg for two weeks, then down to 8 mg for two weeks. At my appointment in early June my doctor wants me to start tapering down by .25 mg every few days. I think I will try to convince him that I don't need to go quite so slowly and try to drop 1 mg per week until I reach 4 mg, then start tapering by .25 after that. If at anytime I start to feel crappy, I'll stay on that dose as long as I need to until I start feeling better. My doctor is quite flexible in this regard.

I also want to report that I didn't notice any withdrawal symptoms at all until yesterday, when I felt like my body's internal thermostat was off. This was a little over 24 hours since my last 8 mg dose and I did feel better once I took that evening's dose. I hope this helps!

Thanks to everyone else who sent along kind words and group hugs! :D

Amy

Group hugs?? I missed the group hug.....DANG IT!! I like hugs too. :D

Amy, you're already down from 16mg to 8mg?? Good job!! Are you planning to be Suboxone free soon or are you planning to get to as low a dose as you can and then stay there?
