I just started 1 8/2 suboxone daily around 2 weeks ago so im still new to this, dont laugh or anything please because i feel stupid even asking lol
Ive been lucky enough to get the flu and bronchitis, with a nasty cough thats quite productive (my DOC was hydromet, the thought of taking any cough medicine is kind of a trigger so I've only been doing cough drops). This morning while I was dosing I had a nasty coughing fit. I had to spit, there was no option. The strip was only in my mouth for exactly 4 minutes, should I try again or just see how i feel later?

See how you feel later, it's possible that enough was absorbed that you will feel alright for today. Don't psych yourself out mentally about it, though, that's what usually gets people thinking they're in withdrawal if they have even a slightly significant amount than they're used to. Stay positive and go about your business, the less you have to think about how you feel the better, and again, chances are you'll be fine. IF you do feel the need to take an extra, doing so without contacting your DR would be addict behavior/playing your own Dr. If there's any way to get a call in to your DR or someone filling in to explain the situation and ask if taking another is an option that would be the best move. Unless your Dr. is one of the rare ones that allows for extras in cases like this and has advised you to use them at your discretion. Good luck!

Thank you =) I wasnt worried about withdrawal, I am worried that if hes doing a UA on Tue to check my levels that if theyre not where theyre supposed to be he would think I was cheating.. but since ive taken it every day I'm sure he will see that my levels are were they would be. I just don't want to screw this up, this is the best I've felt in years.. I have 13 days clean today, I want that number to keep growing. Hes not in the office today, so I will just tell him what happened if it comes up. Id rather have slightly too little than too much.
Thanks again!

First and perhaps most important, those quantitative urine tests are not that specific that he will be able to detect a partially missed dose. I would not sweat that in the least, at all, or even a little bit. Second, that four minute strip is actually is a pretty long time and most will be devolved in that amount of time. Certainly you are better off taking a longer amount of time allowing the strip to devolve but four minutes should not be a problem 15 or 20 seconds, yeah, but not four minutes.

Just go about your day and night as if nothing happened because really nothing has! You'll be just fine.

You guys are right, i was fine.. i didnt take anything extra and cleaned the house and baked cookies for my kids to distract myself. The more I think about it, the worse I feel. I spend so much time worrying about possibly going in to withdrawl i could drive myself crazy..

Thats funny, he swore he could tell if I had even skipped a dose or two. I wish I could just take it as needed and not worry about it instead of dosing every morning.
