The subs work great but I'm having a bad effect from it. My sex drive is crazy strong since starting the subs but I can't last more then 2 seconds. Really. 2 seconds. I could get off from a very strong wind if I want. This one doctor on a forum says I'm having a paradoxill effect from the subs. Usually people on a opiate can last a long while (and I sure did on the heroin) but the subs is increasing my seratonin and I'm have a paradoxill effect from it. I think that means the opposite of what it is suppose to do. Anybody else with this problem?

Funnily enough thats what dose I'm on 8mg Subutex
From my experience what happens is whilst on heroin it numbs ur body and labido (allowing u to last for hours)
subutex/suboxone works differently (I'm sure you've noticed) although still an opiate it does not have the same traits.
So sex drive comes back and ur body is'nt so desensitized.
You seem to feel your ermm .... junk in the trunk more
how long have you been on suboxone?
took me about a month to get back to normal.

I been on it about 10 days now. I was on it many different times with the same results. I'm gonna have to drink meth. I go to a pain doctor I'm gonna see if he'll give me methfor pain. It beats goingto clinic everyday.

When on Suboxone, I had absolutely no sex drive. When I stopped (and I stopped at 8mg/day, thats another story, sex drive was one issue), it all came back and I couldn't last 2 seconds for about 2 months.

When I did want to 'do it' when on Suboxone, I had very painful ejactulations. I mean, they HURT LIKE HELL! And, there was very little fluid. Yeah, I now sounds gross. I guess thats 'retrograde ejactulation'. Maybe it wasn't no drive, but no desire to have pain when I ejactulated I guess?

Dude my sex drive is crazy on suboxone. In (Europe I think) they just came out with this SSRI that is normally used for depression but this is for PE because people on depression pills can last forever. So this is like a low dose one and you take it about 2 hours before your gonna knock some boots. Only thing is it's not legal here in the USA "YET".

Wow.. usually opiate lower testosterone levels.
One time I had ... well a couple females and it didn't work.. that was annoying! Probably the worst time for that right? It was doubly embarassing

Yeah I been in that situation before. Every dude has at one time or another. Yes opiates are known to lower test but it is at a very low level where I doubt it can be noticed. I been running dope for 25 years and I have good quality muscle on this body (prison helps with that though) and I usually belong to a gym.

I have a few ideas...

* Maybe try a condom?
* How about 'orajel'. its benzocaine.. they use it to numb the mouth and you can get it at most drug stores.. maybe numbing it a bit would help? I suppose you'd need a condom for that anyway?

Yeah I was doing a little research. Doctors can now perscribe antideppresents (particularly Zoloft) for PE. They say it is perscriped for a "off label use" and there allowed to do it. It's at low doses. Also found stuff called"anafranil" take it 12 hours before you do the nasty. Also like the oragel you mentioned is lidocaine jelly. Probable need a script for them. Now some other things.
Tempe by Plethora Solutions LTD in London have a Lidocaine and Prilocaine solution.
Emlas Astrazeneca is a cream form.
There is a herb called Psoralea that is suppose to help. It has 4 and half stars out of 5 in this popular herb book.
Thanks for helping out.

I've also found that I've had some trouble with PE while being on Suboxone (since Feb. 2009) My stamina used to last for 10-20 minutes but now I'm lucky to reach 30 seconds and it's embarassing. I've heard about drugs such as ssri's for help and snri's both of which I've tried. Just wondering if anyone out there has ever went with a drug like Viagra or Cialis to treat this problem? I know it seems kind of drastic for someone to take an ED drug just because Suboxone makes you finish before you start, lol... But it could be a viable use- any Medical Professionals, (Dr. Junig or anyone else) could you weigh in on this?
Thanks!

You could always change your nickname to "Quick Draw" :P

It's more likely due to the dropping levels of heroin or whatever your drug of choice was after starting Suboxone than due to the sub itself.

All of the opiates delay things a bit... and I agree with those who posted already that the effect is because you are getting less opiate stimulation than you WERE getting.

There is an easy fix-- just take any SSRI. They work like a charm for premature ejaculation-- the effect is dose-related, so simply increase the dose until you get the desired amount of 'slowing'. The effect takes a few weeks, just as the anti-depressant effect does, so don't increase until the 4 weeks is up, and wait at least 3-4 weeks before any further increases after that.

A few rare people have impotence on SSRI's, usually as a result of decreased sex drive more than anything mechanical. I hate to turn it all into a medicated thing, but if worse came to worse, viagra-type meds are very effective for that type of impotence. But chances are, an SSRI alone would fix you up just fine. The choice of which one depends on the desired side effects; the effect we are discussing occurs with all of them, and so is called a 'class effect'. A few meds and their 'useful' side effects:
-Prozac (fluoxetine): 4 bucks at WalMart or Target; tends to cause a bit of weight loss and 'activation' (not sedating). LONG half-life means NO discontinuation syndrome. My first pick.
-Paxil (paroxetine): 4 bucks, but worth less than that! Short half-life means withdrawal (ick). Puts 10 pounds on everyone who takes it. Should be taken at night, as it is sedating. I hate this medication.
-Celexa (citalopram): 4 buck med, not activating or sedating. Intermediate half-life. My second choice; first choice in people on many other meds, as it has very few drug interactions (Prozac will effect the metabolism of coumadin and many other medications).
- Zoloft (sertraline): Cheap (I think a 4 dollar med). A very popular choice-- for some reason I rarely prescribe it. I probably just don't like the name for some reason.
- Remeron (mirtazepine): not an SSRI, but some similar effects. Does NOT reduce sex drive, which is good, but it will make you gain so much weight that sex might be harder to find. Very sedating, so take at bedtime.
- Wellbutrin (bupropion): not an SSRI. Won't help in this situation. Doesn't treat anxiety, and can even make anxiety worse. Also sold as Zyban to curb smoking. A good antidepressant for someone who is looking for 'energy' and no effect on sex life-- as long as anxiety isn't a problem.

One final comment-- that comment about 'getting off' in a stiff wind (no pun intended)-- are you sure you don't want to wait until tornado season is over?

...You guys are classic!

....Strong winds. ...Quick Draw ..Angelo w/ the jail house physique, droppin loads like nobody's business!!

Seriously though, I have a lot of experience with this and have talked to a lot of opiate addicts about it. I really don't think suboxone itself is affecting most of your libido's or causing PE. ...Although, the guy with the painfull loads and minimal giz could be experiencing a rare side-effect. At a minimum, something worth chatting about with an endocronologist.

Obviously, you prolly all know that opiates jack your hormones up. Some people worse than others. Some opiates worse than others. Suboxone's not too bad though. I had significantly lowered testosterone on oxys, but I'm almost back to normal on suboxone. My levels are now in the low end of the range.

So what I think most of you are experiencing is the same thing I did- As you hormones come back to normal (during 1st month or so off other opiates), your sex drive is just through the roof, and you're crazy sensitive down there. ...NIPPLES TOO I MIGHT ADD. Take a gander if you haven't noticed already (if you're lady's freaky, maybe she'll tweak on for you!). The good news- things level off. And hey, in the mean time, be selfish- enjoy the high sensitivity, block out the embarrassment of "finishing before you start".

BTW- Opiates mess with 3 main chemicals in men- Lower Testosterone, Lower HDL (good cholesterol), and Higher prolactin.

The combination of low testosterone and low HDL is the biggest factor their is for a heart attack. These two usually lower with age, but we opiate addicts were helping things along. Now, prolactin is what women produce when they are pregnant to enlarge their breasts and produce milk. High prolactin levels in men means BITCH TITTS! ...So between the low testosterone and the bitch titts, we were also turning ourselves into women. .....Just a couple of facts that might help in your recovery!!! :-o

for me, I'm ok on suboxone. but before i started taking it, anytime i wasn't high I would seriously ejaculate just from making out and rubbing etc. trying to sound as least gross as possible, but almost everytime I wouldn't even be able to get in because it would have happened before that or while i was trying to get in

is that a normal withdrawal symptom? It really made me feel like a loser even though my girlfriend understands. also, I used to be able to go the 2nd time just fine....but when i was withdrawing (or even just kinda withdrawing) i would be super fast the first time (like really really fast), then the 2nd time I couldn't get hard enough

sorry lol, i'm trying not to be gross but its hard to explain

I go to a pain clinic for legitimate chronic acute( during breakthrough) pain. I'm prescribed a hefty dose of methadone every 6 hrs. Before this girlfriend, I masturbated w/ more pressure and could always come.

During normal intercourse, I can last forever , but can't come. Only when she...well, you know.
Anyhow, this makes her feel inhibited or not attractive..because I can't explode in her...tuff life LOL
but, this is really becoming( no pun) a problem- to the point where she doesn't want to have sex much  Also, this is stressing me out and just making matters worse.....can anyone relate? :?:

also, Im so lucky to even have this women in my life...she means the world to me..

She is blessed to have you in her life if you could keep putting it to her like you do without cumming. I read about this problem many times on various sites. People (guys and gals) who can't cum from intercourse put can from masterbation. Go to the various sex sites (google it) and you will see this questioned asked many times. I'll give some links in a couple days.
