Hi all. I have been on Suboxone since January 2009. I loved my pain pills until I finally couldn't go through with it anymore. My pill of choice was Loracet 10mg. The final script I got for these pieces of garbage, I swallowed 9 of them in a clip, and it barely phased me. I would go to a local Urgent Care aka drug dispensary. When I would run out, I put my current wife through hell trying to find me anything from Vicodin to Darvocet. I never stole anything to feed my habit, but I knew it was getting out of control. Before the pills, I never really was a pill popper. I actually got into Nubain first which is worse if you ask me. I got introduced to that evil through bodybuilding, and unfortunately, I learned to mainline. I have been free of that for 5 years now.

In January of 2009, I finally couldn't do the pills anymore. I have been on 1 tablet per day since I started, and along with it, my Suboxone Dr. put me on 50mgs of Seroquel prior to bed. This combination has really helped. My mood swings are gone, my depression is gone. I will ever so often take a second tablet as needed, but it's not often. I can't say enough good things about this medication. I do think it saved my life. Unfortunately, I tried to get my closest friend of 11 years to go the same route as me, but he quit twice. I recently lost him to an overdose of Methadone and Cocaine, he was only 2 days older than me at age 31. Im looking forward to talking to others and trying to help as best I can.

Hi pumpt and welcome to the forum. We're glad you've joined us. Thanks for sharing your story. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. That must have been such a difficult thing for you to go through; you have my deepest condolences.

I'm happy to hear that you are doing well on suboxone and that with the combination of meds you are on your mood swings have subsided. I've suffered from the same thing for years and like you, have finally found a good combination of meds to help address it.

Again, welcome to the forum. I hope you find as much support here as I have.
