So I posted a poll/paragraph about 13 months ago when I was pregnant with my now 7 month old son..
I was on colonopin, subutex(8mg 2x day) and a heart medication for irregular heart beat and fast heart rate
I had started my us ozone treatment on October 17 2011 when I put myself into a detox facility
I had been on methadone maintenance for 3 years prior to that for addiction and pain control and decided to go off the methadone after recovering from a car accident .. They had me on almost 300 MGs a day and I was tired of being a zombie around my then 4 year old daughter
So I detoxes and went on suboxone through a valley clinic/IOP
About a year into the treatment I started going down on my subs and got extremely sick.. I ended up I the hospital and they told me I was possibly miscarrying,
And admitted me to the hospital.. While in the hospital they gave me subutex rather than suboxone almost immediately after starting an iv and I stopped bleeding and my shooting pain and stomach cramps all went away and the next day they did a ultra sound and his heart was still beating!!
So I got on subutex and was taking 8mgs a day until I was 8 months then started going down 1 mg a week and stopped at 4 MGs a day before delivery that was induced at 38 weeks.. But induction didn't take, and we found out his cord was around my sons neck 2 times (they found this out AFTER cutting my stomach open, not once did it show up in the multiple ultrasounds)
Also.. Prior to having him we went to a specialist ob that had history dealing with subutex and suboxone reliant women, met with the NICU nurses and also met the NICU pediatrician.. So we were prepared for the "withdraws" if that did start..
Luckily I can happily tell you that on SEPTEMBER 7th 2013 my son Jace Aleksander was born on 356pm weighing 7lbs 4oz and 23inches long..
They took him away right after removing him via c section and brought him go a light and oxygen and he cried from the moment his head came out and it was the most beautiful thing I've ever heard!!
I spent so much time preparing to have a baby that was born dependent to opiates ... And my prayers were answered and my boy was here...
He needed zero extra monitoring and scored as high as possible on the scale the nurses graded him on..
Only thing was he did have jaundice and we had to out him in front of a window for 5-10 mins a day and it was gone within a week and he left the hospital with me on day 4 :)
So all you concerned mamas out there I know how bad things get and I know how emotional you are every second of every day trying to live with the guilt of knowing your taking something that could affect you baby.. Just know that the subutex/suboxone is saving EVERYONES life involved.. If I wasn't "stable" on subs when I was pregnant I know I wouldn't have had the healthy baby boy I did and I'm so appreciative for that.
