Hi I have been tapering down from 32 and am now down to 4 with the hope of being down to .2 before I go into detox in December (I have a toddler so I think for me doing it at home will be next to impossible) Anyway I have found the place I want to go and have the annual / sick leave. My question is what do I tell work I want to use my sick leave as I am getting married on March and want to use the annual leave for my honeymoon. But what do I say, I need a medical reason that would warrant me needing three weeks off in hospital as I won't be able to contact work. Please any suggestions would be so helpful I don't know how to go about this!

Tell them you have to leave for personal medical reasons.
I.E ITS NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS>
If you say personal medical reasons, it is not a lie and usually when someone says "personal" they should know not to press any further.

I totally understand. I left for rehab a year and a half ago, and I said exactly that. I just said I was having personal medical issues. At the time, I had a couple of seizures, so I just said that I needed to go in for observation at the hospital, which ended up needing to stay for 30 days, you know. I was surprised, but they left me alone about it.

I found myself in this same situation before I discovered Suboxone. I originally was going to put myself into rehab and didn't quite know what I was going to tell my work. I completely agree with Raudy on this one. It's a really tough situation to be in. Good luck to you!
