I'm going to start off by saying I've been on suboxone (without a script) for atleast 2-3 months. I've been taking 4mg at a time. Every now and then I've gone a day or two with out it.

I have only enough money to get two more 8mg pills and I want to stop. I'm horrified of the withdrawals. I have an 11 month old daughter I have to keep up with and I'm a single mom.
Is there anything I can do to make the withdrawals not be so bad? A taper plan I can use with these last two pills? Or will it be useless to try and taper so fast.
I'm really scared.

Hi there, if you have two 8mg pills, I would taper them as much as you can withstand. Maybe start with 2mg and spread your doses out as much as possible. If you have only been on subs for 2-3 months, your withdrawl shouldn't be too bad. I was on for 3.5 years from 16-2mgs and I started feeling normal after about two weeks. It's not as bad as you are probably making it out. Not nearly as intense as withdrawling off full agonist opiates (ie Dope, oxy's) and there are many people on this thread that have done it sucessfully. Hopefully you have some ppl in your life that you can be honest with that can help support you. I'm on day 21 and am so happy that I finally made the jump.

Best of Luck, you can do it!!!

Hi S, my addiction doc didn't have much info for long term opiate addicts like me, getting off Sub's. But she told me that her short term Sub's patients were able to get off the drug pretty much pain free. She recommended jumping at 2 mg.

You could do a week or more at 2 mg, then taper even lower before jumping.

FWIW I found it to be no trouble dropping from 4 mg to 2 mg.

Good luck.
