DB- Loved that you said I'm annoying- ha ha ha- made my day!!!

Romeo! Great job!! Keep it up! No turning back, you never have to smoke more than 18 cigs a day again....and in time less and less until "someday" (in the not too distant future) you will be saying "I never have to smoke a cigarette again. Ever."

Made it with 18 yesterday. Looks about the same today. I may push for 17, not sure yet. I don't want to push too, too hard and mess everything up by doing so.

Right now, I'm just happy to be down from the 28 or so cig's I was at. And believe it or not, I can already feel it. I already feel better.

great job man! less than a pack a day already! that's awesome. you may really be onto something with the tapering cigs thing. I may even give that a try, especially since you say you're feeling better. withdrawal, especially if it's reminiscent of my other WD experiences, is scary stuff. so glad you're feeling good, and not experiencing any nicotine WD symptoms. you're making progress :-)

Thank you Lizzie!!! I really appreciate your support!!

Yeah, if people can taper Suboxone, why not taper cig's? As of today, I haven't felt any wd at all. I wonder what the ceiling level of cig's is? lol

If you're ready, tapering back on your cig's a bit isn't hard. For the past several days, I've just made myself more aware of how many I was smoking, then made a conscious effort to stop those times when I'd smoke 2 in a row, trying to not smoke when I drive and right now, trying to only smoke one an hour. In a few more days, I think I'll cut out my morning cig because I used to never smoke in the mornings, then I'll just work on cutting out other cig's as I go.

I'm not setting any lofty goals as of now, just doing it as I feel like it and truth be told, I'd be happy, happy, happy to get under 10 a day and stay there for a good while.

I'm on track to hit 16 cig's today!!! I may even push for 15 just cuz I'm so riled up about some bacon and an upcoming battle royalle between me and some chick.

Wowee!! 16 is only "6" more than "10" (Yes, I did the math all by myself! :P )
You are FLYING towards that goal!! So SO proud of you!!!

So....fewer cigs, more bacon??? Not sure if that is a healthier trade off or not....lol

Okay Romeo. I am getting in on this taper plan. I need to quit smoking. I get winded going up 2 flights of stairs. I smoke about a pack a day I'm guessing? I am about to open a new pack. Perhaps I will toss one today! Make it 19 instead of 20. My husband quit 5 months ago cold turkey. Ya, I cant handle that!

16 cig's yesterday....that's down from 28 just about a week ago!! Woo-Hoo!!

BF---fewer cig's, more bacon = good!!! (for my tummy anyway!!)

Trainer, the taper thing isn't bad at all; as of right now, anyway. I started just like you said you were going to do. I open a brand new pack every morning so I know exactly how many I've been through that day. That alone has helped me cut back. As the days go by, I keep looking for cig's I can cut out. So far so good. Good luck Trainer!! If you quit smoking, I'll buy you a pound of bacon!!!

16! Nice! You've almost chopped your nic intake in half! Ya, I hear you about the car! For me, it was routine and just automatic that I light up a cig as soon as I got in the car. That, and a cup of coffee, had to be coupled with a cig! I have a friend who bought a bag of Dum Dums (no, I'm not talking about you, I'm referring to the lollipops) and would have one of those as soon as she got in the car. She said she had the whole "hand to mouth" motion, and they lasted about as long as a cigarette. I didn't do it that way, but I was also preggers and nauseous anyway, so it was fairly easy for me to taper down to 1 or 2 a day for about 2 weeks, then just quit. I'm sure you're getting a whole plethora of cessation plans, but once again, find whatever works for you and stick with it. I also like the idea of a "pros and cons" list. It gives you a whole new perspective, on just about anything, when you write it out on paper. Especially, in this case, I don't think there are any "pros" in regard to smoking!

OMG Trainer & Romeo and the BACON challenge from yesterday! ha ha ha- I'm STILL lmfao at Trainer's HUGE can of "nut grease"- ha ha ha ha ha!!!!! K, pulling myself together here!

Trainer- great news you are joining the taper! Maybe THIS is the "real" competition you two should have? (if it might help motivate you in a positive way that is)

Romeo- YOU RAWK! 8) 8) 8) Never have to smoke more than 16. Ever.

Fewer Cigs = More Bacon = MORE tummy!!! = NOT SEXY  lol

Hey now, leave our precious bacon out of this. If Romeo and I follow the Atkin's diet we can eat all the bacon we want!

K, it's looking like a 17 cig day. That's up 1 from yesterday. I haven't decided if I'm going to hang here for a bit and get used to it or push on towards 16, 15 and lower. I'll sleep on it and decide in the morning.

I need to start becoming aware of when I smoke the most. I dont smoke in the house so every time I take the dogs out I light up. Driving to work I smoke at least 3 cigs. Breaks at work find me smoking 2. Thats alot of cigs. Bluck.

so, because I worked all day yesterday, and only have 2 chances to smoke onbreaks, I am left with 5 cigs in the pack I opened. However, days off, like today I smoke more. I am planning on not smoking every other time I go out with the dogs. See how it goes today!
