Hi, it's queenie, stopping by. I hope everyone is doing well. I'm doing good. Still on 8mgs a day and my doctor says it's fine with him. I see him every 6 months and it's fine with me.

I can also report that my health is fine. No more surgeries, infections, amputations or heart attacks, etc..

For those of you that don't know me. I am the granny of the forum. I am 72 years old. I am a double amputee. I got hooked on all kinds of pain killers, big time medications, but thanks to Suboxone, I'm doing fine and have been clean for 4 years. Thanks to many on this forum too that helped me. I keep them in my heart. You know who you are. I love you all so much.

Keep fighting the fight. It can be done. Don't give up and don't give in.
Love, queenie

Queenie!!!

Your doc lets you come in every 6 months?! It is good to hear that there docs who prescribe according to what patients need... rather than some automatic schedule set by politicians. Several states have passed laws requiring people on buprenorphine to be seen every month, for life-- never mind if they are stable, or if they are active heroin addicts...

Hi Queenie!!!!

I've definitely read ur posts before in the past and ur truly inspirational to say the least. I've been on suboxone for almost four years too and it's absolutely changed my life and given me such peace of mind. U def can't put a price on that. So great to hear that ur health is doing good! It's very awesome that ur doctor let's u come in once every six months, wow good for u, that'd be so great.

So glad u pop in from time to time to give inspiration and keep us updated on ur journey. I hope u have a wonderful weekend Queenie :)

So good to hear from you guys. Yes, my sub doc sees me every 6 months. Every April & October. I guess he trusts me. I've been seeing him 4 1/2 years and with my disability and clean urine tests, he is fine with every 6 months. He gives me an rx and 5 refills. my co-pay is $10.00 on my rx, and my insurance covers the visits 100%. Pretty good huh?

Take care of yourselves and stay strong.
Hugs, Queenie

Dang queenie,

you are so lucky to only have to go twice a year. I have to go every month. But it is a small price to pay to get my life back .

Thanks for checking in. I am in search of a place that takes my insurance because i was having to pay out of pocket for every monthly visit to the dr.

Still on the search..

Thank you, Queenie! You have no idea how much I appreciate that you think of me and pray for me! I will try to be disciplined enough to do the same!

Love you back,

Amy

Do you mind if I ask what state you live in that lets a dr. see you once every few months?

Suboxone is a schedule three narcotic. I didn't know they gave refills for sched. three's. That's why so many of us have to go in to the doc each month to physically pick up the paper script. They can't call in the prescription and they can't do refills or so I thought. Very controlled substance. The laws are probably online somewhere. I'm going to google them and see if I find anything because I really would like to know what is actually the legal rule of thumb and what are the doctors paranoid insistances.

Anyone?

Hi Queenie,

Sorry I didn't say hi but our good doctor got me thinking about refills, etc. So now I'm saying Hi and am glad you continue to pop in and let us know how our grandmother of the forum is doing.

It's always a pleasure to see your name posted.

Hi Queenie,

I live in Austin Texas and there are ALOT of suboxone doctors here. Which is nice because it makes it easy to get and stay on ORT.

Most people here are PRO Suboxone, at least from what i have experienced.

Nice to meet you!
