Hi,
This is my first time posting. I was on 16 mg of suboxone, but ended up becoming pregnant. The doctor did not want to treat me anymore. So just gave me one more script and told me to get off. I don't really feel comfortable getting all of the way off. I am already down to just 1 mg a day, but am scared of the final steps in getting off. I'm not sure exactly how to go about finding a sub doctor while pregnant. I know alot of doctors probably won't take a pregnant patient. I feel extremely embarrassed about just calling the different offices asking if they'll take a pregnant person. Does anyone from this forum live in Virginia (or Maryland) that can point me in the direction of a sub doc they used while pregnant?

Hi kgmom -

First welcome to the forum. I don't think you'll have a problem asking doctors if they'll accept a pregnant patient. We've had various different people go through their pregnancies while on sub. Your doctor, in my opinion, was extremely unprofessional in releasing you from treatment like that, no taper plan, no nothing. S/he should have, at the very least, given you your options and referred you to someone else.

Have you tried the online doctor locators? There are a few of them. Try naabt.org, suboxone-directory.com, suboxone.com, and samhsa.gov. Good luck and please let us know how you make out. And congratulations on your pregnancy.
