Sorry for the delayed update. We finally got some much needed sleep. Everything went perfectly. No pw. Shortly after ramping up the dosage a bit, all withdrawal symptoms disappeared and in her own words, her mind is now more clear than it's been in a decade of taking methadone. I was almost certain she'd experience some discomfort in adjusting to the subs but the 5-6 days of vicodin (Allowing her to be cleaned of methadone) seems to have eliminated that.

Thanks for all the replies and positivity!

Awesome news! Welcome to the world of recovery from addiction. It is a great medication to get a person back on track and your post proves it. As long as the medical field leaves it up to us on when to taper and get off it then we'll be fine. A good majority of us have no immediate plans of stopping anytime soon. I've tapered down quite a bit but still need my daily dose.

Now both of you can focus on building your lives back up again w/o worrying about getting your DOC. It is a far better world to live in.

Congrats,

rule
