Anyone who lives in the area knows that the best Sub doc in area was closed recently, Dr. Summers on Broad St. Apparently his office was a "pill mill", which sucks for those of us that were actually compliant with the medication and wanted to stay clean. Finally found a doc accepting patients and went to 1st apt today-Horrible. $350 for initial visit and had to stay in the office for induction, then only wrote me for 16 mg a day, when I was comfortable on 24. Anyone know of a good, less expensive doc in or near Philly?

Welcome to the forum lp,

Looks like they got you in a corner with no easy way out. That is a lot of money to fork over for treatment, but at least you found a place to legally obtain your Sub.

I'm not from Philly so I can't suggest any particular doctor. Maybe someone here will but don't count on it. May I assume you've used every search method available to find the prescribing doctors? If I had to pay that, I'd be clean by now.

No insurance? Or the doctor won't take it? Just keep looking and you may have to travel further than you'd like to find a good one.

Once again, Welcome to the forum and I hope someone will help you out with a suggestion for a good doctor.

My doctor was Dr Donald Turner. I didn't have insurance at the time and he charged me $100 per visit which was peanuts compared to my other doctors. He has two offices, one on south street, just below broad. And another in northeast philly. Google his number. There is an addiction specialist who works out of Penn University but he is $500 a visit, I am blanking on his name.
