So, I had my mother in law to go pick up a 3 day supply of my suboxone strips and she's always trying to find ways to get it cheaper and who can blame her right they are exspensive I know but it was more exspensive buying it elsewhere. Well the pharmacy had the nerve to tell my mother in law that it would be cheaper if I was on pain pills? I'm like really? Like these ppl don't give a shit about me! Has anything like this happened to anyone else? This pisses me off!!!

Hey Browneyedgirl!

I have to say that's a pretty ignorant person to say that, if that's how they meant it. I would go to a different pharmacy from now on. There's no way they'd continue to get my business. Some ppl need to keep their opinions to themselves. I would probably have caused a scene if that were to happen to me lol. Thankfully my pharmacy probably deals with as many suboxone patients as anything else. They're right in the middle of two clinics about a block apart from each other. I've never had an issue with judgement. If I had ever had an issue with judgement, I would take my business somewhere else because that kind of thing really makes my blood boil!

As addicts, we're already facing judgement and stereotypes that drive me insane and I think we're all pretty sensitive about it for good reason. I get defensive when I see it..... don't know if that's the best reaction but at least it's something :)

My RX consists of a girl I went to school with, and the owner's husband works at the plant with my wife...so it's a mom-pop operation.

They never say anything to me...
I get my meds without a problem.
And just last week, my wife had a procedure done to remove some polyps and I picked up her norco (that she didn't even bother to take -- or maybe 1 or 2 of the 12 they gave her)..
They don't judge or assume. And I don't give them reason to either. Sometimes I think pharmacists ..and many cases, the assistants who just count pills, try to play a powerful role that they really should be involved in...

Why 3 days at a time? Are you on MAT? How much are you taking per day? Given that it was just for 3 days,
could they have assumed it was just for pain?
