Hi, everyone! My name is Sarah and am new to the forum. I thought I would post my experience just incase anyone could get hope from it or needs advice. I had my last baby exactly two years ago, and throughout the entire pregnancy I was on 16 mg of Suboxone. I had a wonderful pregnancy, was able to stay clean, but had been well into my recovery by then. I was so deathly scared of the baby going through withdrawal, and my Gods good grace, he did not exhibit not ONE symptom of withdrawal. I also work in the maternity ward at our hospital, so I knew well ahead of time that many babies do experience withdrawal from Suboxone, and are somtimes in the NICU for up to 8 weeks. BUT, some studies have shown that babies have a 20% chance of withdrawal on Suboxone, where as other meds, such as Methadone, have at least a 50% chance. I also nursed him for over 18 months and he had no effects from the Suboxone either.

Now, I came off of Suboxone last June (Almost a year now) and have been clean since.
If anyone has any questions I would love to help if I can!
--Sarah

hello!

So glad everything worked out well for you! Were you taking suboxone or subutex?

Thanks so much for sharing your success story!!! I'm so proud of you for your whole year. That's a BIG, HUGE deal!!!!

I had a baby on Sub too and she was okay as well. No w/d or anything, and I was terrified the whole time, just like you. We are both very blessed. I'm really happy for you, and thanks for posting about this.

Thanks, girls! YES...we ARE blessed! I really couldn't fathom what it would be like to see my baby withdrawal, and I don't think I would have been strong enough to watch that....I think God knew that!

missH--I was on Subutex. Once I found out I was pregnant my doctor switched me to Subutex.
