I was wondering if the pain management doctors help you to taper off your opiates (prescribed pain meds) or if they only want to use suboxone? I just can not find any info saying that they will help you taper off. My dosage is pretty small so I don't know about using another drug (suboxone) to get off Methadone and then have to get off Suboxone, which I heard is hell also. Any replies at all would help.

My pain management doc told me to go "cold turkey" for 24 hrs, then start the Sub which I did. I survived with just a few sweats, a headach and a little anxiety. Hang in there!
