What kind of pain meds? Opiate or like anti inflammatory?

It depends on how much sub you're taking I guess but all in all, I don't think you will feel much. I slipped once and used H in the beginning of my sub treatment and I didn't feel anything. I got really sleepy but did not feel it's usual effects. That's when I gave everything up for good. :D

Are you used to taking oxycontin?

Can I ask what you were taking pre suboxone? Also, how much sub are you on now? Were you on suboxone during your surgery? Sorry for 20 questions but I need to know more to answer.

I now take 2mgs 3x. / day. Down from 4 8s. In only 2 mos. i took my regular doses today. I was numbed and awake for tendon surgery. Actually I only took 3 of the 4 today... Im so unsure what to do. And no, tylenol aint cutting it. Im thinking I should just tuff it out. The more I read...
I used to take
2-30 mg er morph
6-30 mg IR oxyc
Of course I abused even that
I went on subs aug 17. Best day ever
Have serious pain now. He says, well fill it, see if it helps, Im not sure...
As I scan around this seems to be the norm w/drs not up on subox use.

Im just gonna try n sleep.... Thanks anyway....

According to the Big Man Dr. J... you can get some added analgesia when you take pain meds while on Suboxone. How much extra analgesia you'll get is hard to say. But considering that buprenorphine will pretty much stop the opioids from increasing your tolerance, or becoming addicted to them, any added pain-killing effect can be considered a bonus.

The only risk is that you might wanna stop taking buprenorphine to get more of a "kick" from the oxy. While stopping the bupe may increase the pain-killing effect, you'll become vulnerable to increasing your tolerance, and becoming more addicted to opioids. Buprenorphine can act as a buffer against addiction so it's best to keep taking it!

In my eyes I think you'd be better off using the sub for your pain.

More frequency in suboxone is the answer. When I have a neck fusion I was 3 days off suboxone. Sub doc told me to take no more than 3 days of the oxi 10s the. Go back on sub. We increased my sub dose to 24 mg a day. Half a strip every 4 hours for pain

the above, is absolutely correct................
same for me, with all the dental work.................
the last infection I had,,, they Rx'd me some percocet,,,,, i waited about 16hrs after taking suboxone, and took two,
then two more, two more,,,,
slept a few hours, woke up in horrific pain,,, LOL
Went back to the suboxone,
was like "aaahhhhhh" and felt alot better.................

You should try motrin and tylenol, you can take them together,,,,,,
800mg of motrin and 1000mg of tylenol every 5 hours, is how I got thru the days, after having all my teeth pulled.
the suboxone helped MOST of all, but I wouldn't have made it, w/o the over the counter stuff.

Hope this helps.

what TJ's talking about makes sense as well,,,,,, dr j talks about that, and the studies in his blog..... suboxonetalkzone.com
there's a link at the top of the index page..........
so you could look into that, if your having a hard time............

Good Luck
hope you feel a LOT better, VERY soon.
