Hi all.

first, i wanna say you guys have been a great help - truly a group of lifesavers, helping me get through all this.

When I saw my Doc (I've only seen him once) he asked what other medications I was on.

I was taking opiates (too many, of course) but was also prescribed Tizanidine, a muslce relaxer. I listed it along with my Blood Pressure meds and Trazadone for help sleeping. When I mentioned the Tizanidine, the Doc mumbled "Might wanna stop that." He said it kinda to himself, but was it an instruction??

He really wasn't very informative - Just treated me like a "business task" that he didn't really seem to take much interest in. I didn't care at the time, I just wanted to get off the pills! Besides, I "felt" like a piece of trash at the time - LOL I took that to mean I was not supposed ot take it anymore. I have also seen someone say something about not taking Flexiril or anything like that.

I don't want to take something I'm gonna get in trouble for, but am having a LOT of tension & muscle spasm and would like to take a Tizanidine. Warm showers and hot tea is just not really helping! LOL

I haven't taken anythign but the Suns & Motrin for weeks! LOL

Do your Sub Docs tell you not to take anything like that & why? I never thought of a muscle relaxer or something like Flexiril being addictive!

Thanks and be well!

WBF

I took tizanidine when I was on Suboxone; it was prescribed for my migraines. My Sub doctor said it was ok but to be careful because Sub might increase the sedation effects of the tizanidine (so don't take it and drive, for instance).

Maybe your doctor could clarify why he said that? Maybe he thinks it could be abused or could be habit-forming or something?

I dunno. I'll have to ask him - as soon as I can get to him. I was also trying to find a doc that isn't a 2 hour drive, but that puts a LOT of balls in the air.

I also wann thank you again on your suggesiton of "regularity" - MAN I would LOVE not to be thinking about the next dose!

Be well!
