I am 24 weeks pregnant and currently taking .5mg of suboxone. I didnt know I was pregnant until I was like 11 weeks pregnant because I really never got my period because of drug use. I was injecting heroin about once or twice a week for the first 7 weeks then I had run out of suboxone so I was using about 5-6 bags of heroin daily up until I was 11 weeks when I took a pregnancy text. I feel so guilty and just want to have a healthy baby I am going to stay clean after my pregnancy and be the best mom possible, I feel like getting pregnant is def a blessing for me and gave me a reason to clean up my act and someone to live for. I read that the first trimester is the most important and I hope that I didnt cause any damage to the baby, does anyone have any experiance with being on opiates while pregnant or know what it can do to the baby during 1st trimester? Thanks

Hi MPac and welcome to the forum,

Unfortunately I have no advice for you regarding your pregnancy but I wanted to pass along this blog entry about pregnancy and withdrawals in newborns and laying off the guilt-trip. I hope it can give you some answers. There are many threads here about suboxone use and pregnancy, perhaps one or more will give you some of the answer you seek.

Good luck!
