I can't believe it's been a year. When I look back at all the sadness, shame, and pain addiction caused in my life, I can't help but be proud of sticking with the program and getting better.

Life has ups and downs but nothing like the nightmare that was active addiction. Thanks to all on this site, I don't write much, but read/lurk often, and in the darkest and loneliest times this site was a beacon of light and hope.

Much love.

CONGRATULATIONS! It really is awesome to reclaim your life and see how wonderful it can be without the chains of active addiction and that miserable obsession holding you down! I'm glad we could be here for you. I'm also approaching my one year "cleanaversary, and choosing to take bupe to treat my addiction is the best decision I've ever made. don't know where I'd be without it! certainly don't think I'd be alive, and if, by chance I'd survived another year, my quality of life would still be swirling the commode!

Good for you. Keep posting!

Lizzie

HEY GOOGER!!, I love hearing news like this.
Congrats for the year. Buprenorphine has given so many of us a fighting chance for a new lifd, regain at least some of our old one as well.
Time go by. Guilt and shame takes time to to leave us. It has for me. But, we stay clean and keep moving forward..ive seen this happen to many addicts in my own town here..

Congrats again......raz..
