One year ago today I took the jump into a better life by deciding to get clean after having abused my prescription oxycontins for about three years. It was the single best thing I have ever done. I got my life back, my children got their mother back, husband got his wife back, and my parents got their daughter back. And for all of their support in the last year I am so grateful. As welll as to those of you on this forum. For a very very long time I would just get on and read without commenting and finally decided to join. I cannot ever tell you all how important it was to me to just be able to read stories about other people and what they were going through. Thank you all! I love my life now. I never realized how good life could be. I am starting a new job, taking vacations, and just living life. It is great. To those of you just starting to get clean or even thinking about it and using suboxone. I would say DO IT TAKE THAT JUMP you will not regret it. Get help, get clean. Live life. A year has gone by so fast. I never ever thought I'd be sitting here a year later being able to comment on this board and actually reducing my doses at the same time. It is just to wonderful to describe. Thanks again to all of you...this forum helps so many people, including me, so keep it up.
Life is good.
Lisa

Congratulations, Lisa! And nice choice in avatars, btw! I have confidence that I will make it one year too, and I have a trip to Disney World scheduled during that time! So please, go get a massage, buy a new book, go to DW! Do something nice for yourself! You deserve it!

Amy

CONGRATS on your one year. You should be very proud of all the work you've put into your remission. Kudos! Keep it up and stay happy and busy.
