Before you read this please check out my introduction so you can know exactly where I stand right now:
"I can't post a l.i.n.k yet lol, but it's titled":
Hope you like my username... it the introduce yourself forum.

Question:
How long after my dose of 2mg should I start feeling w/d symptoms again?

Well that's pretty much it lol.

As my introduction states:
When I start to feel the w/d symptoms again I am going to try just 1mg this time instead of 2mg.
So I was just curious in when to expect it so I can be prepared.

Thanks everyone and glad to be here.

Response varies so much that it would be difficult to comment meaningfully.

It usually takes 3 or so days to feel a new drop in dosage. (I think this was your question.) Suboxone/bupe has an average half life of 37 hours, plus add on top of that the stacking effect, so it does take a few days for the lower dose to sort of "kick in". A good way to reduce your dose that might make it less painful is to dose 2mg one day, then 1 mg, then 2 again, then 1 and so on. Within about a week or maybe a bit more (not sure about that) you'll find yourself comfortably at 1.5 mg. It's something some people have success with. Maybe that kind of dosing could help you.

I hope this helps.

Yes and no... lol
I was more or less thinking of when I start feeling the w/d's again I was going to take 1mg and if that works find then the next time I start feeling the w/d's again I'll take 0.5mg then 0.25mg and see what happens from there... as in if I need it anymore or if it got me through enough to where I can at least handle it until the w/d's are gone.
If that makes sense.
Kinda like an instant taper off of the sub (for detox reasons) until the original opiate withdrawals have subsided enough to where I can handle it... because at first I couldn't.

Sorry to have misunderstood (I think the blizzard messed with my head - LOL). I've never heard of someone using suboxone that way. BUT - I don't think there's anything wrong with trying it. You were only using full agonists for 3 months, right? So your plan might very well work for you. Considering the long half life of suboxone (but without the stacking effect), it could conceivably hold you over for a day or even more. I've probably confused the hell out of you by now - hope not though.
Please do let us know how this plan goes for you.

I posted on your other thread, but then I saw this one. I think I get where you're coming from with your plan and I do think it can possibly work. I was on a significant dose of Sub when I found out I was pregnant. I got down quickly by not planning out any doses. (LOL, I just posted on your other thread about how nice it is to have a schedule!) Anyway, I'd wait until the w/d was yucky and then take only 2 mg, then repeat. Sometimes, I'd be taking it in the middle of the night, but that was fine. Gradually, you start spacing the doses. And then I switched to only taking 1 mg at a time when I really needed it. I was able to drop my dose quite fast with not much discomfort at all. I think I went from around12-14 mg to 3 mg in a couple weeks. However, I had a really, really good reason to be super diligent about this. You should record how much you are taking and when to make sure you are truly going down. And you have to be willing to endure at least a little bit of discomfort for this to work. If you cannot do that, then you need to stick with a schedule.

BTW, is your doctor guiding you at all? I asked you a bunch of other things but they're on the other thread and I won't make you reread it all

Let us know how you do with this.

Not a problem.
I will continue to post in this thread.

My first dose was administered 2/02/2011 at 10:00pm EST

I will post again when I start feeling the first signs of w/d and keep you up to date.

Well it's now 2/04/2011
8:16 am
I thought I would post an update.

So it's been a little over 32 hours since my first dose.
I have yet to feel any w/d's so I have yet to take another sub.
I don't know if I ever will or if it's just going to hit me a little later.
Just had a wonderful sleep, only woke up once. (bathroom)

That's about it so far.

02/04/11 - 11:00am
Finally started feeling achy and a little disoriented.
So went ahead and took 1mg sub.

Will post back in about an hour or so and tell you how it's working out.

2/04/11 - 12:05pm

About an hour later and the 1mg of sub worked just fine, no problems, took away w/d's that were starting.

If I can keep up this pace going a half of what I took last time everytime I take another one for w/d's (which is looking to be every 36 hours or so) I think this might work out for me really well.

Would love to hear your comments.
