Hey there,
I am new here and would like to find any information on free or very low cost suboxone treatment in my area if possible. All the doctors I have called want to charge between $600 to $800 just for an office visit. I have been taking pain pills for a couple of years now and really would like to stop, but I don't know if I can do it 'cold turkey'. I am barely working, so I don't have much of an income and do not have any type of health insurance. I am really at a loss as far as what to do. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Rosewood and welcome to the site. I am going to post a couple of websites for you where you can find doctors in your area, but you will have to call them.
NAABT
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Association Suboxone Doctor Locator
www.suboxone.com

Those sites will help you out finding a Suboxone doctor, also look here for help with cost:
Needy Meds

I know that they have helped others with costs related to Suboxone.

Please try to come to our CHAT support group tomorrow evening at 7:30pm (EST) and let us know if you need anymore help or have any questions! - Shelwoy

Before I post some stupid introduction, I saw your post and if you are even still checking back for replies I had a couple names for you. If you are near my neck of the woods in the Sac Valley, there are at least 10 MDs within 100 miles that can prescribe Suboxone. Personally I see Dr. Stark in Paradise, and he's great. I've been on Subs for about a year and a half now, and he is very open-minded (much like this doctor who runs this site seems to be) and is very responsive to patient concern and questions. He seems to be trying to learn all he can about "real life" Sub use, outside of medical text and lecture.

Anyway, email me if you need some phone numbers. Suboxone is a commitment and it's probably worth making it if you can't afford inpatient but know that you don't wanna go the methadone route..
