Hello all...
I was very glad to find this site, as it seems to have the most truth about the up and downs of life on suboxone.
I have been on a maintenance dose of 8mg for the past 3 years and have struggled to try to get off of it many many times. Ive tried tapering with no success because as soon as the w/d symptoms start..i find myself justifying a reason to wait. So here i sit...on day 2 of my jump as i know this is the only thing that willl work for me..and knowing im just hours away from the "the gates of hell" as i like to refer to it..the justifications are jumping into my head again...I have my own reasons for wanting off this medication and im not here to debate wether i should or not..i just want a little support getting through it....Ive found that just talking about it helps so any support would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

Hey Jim39, glad you found us!

Did you jump off at 8mg?

Do you have any comfort meds? ie. clonidine, benzo's

What kind of support system do you have going on?

Look forward to talking to you and maybe hearing a little more about your story, if you feel like sharing.

Jim - I just jumped this month off around 4 mg and it's nothing unbearable but many times the higher the dose the longer the WD's will linger it seems. Everyone is different and I have heard of people even here who have jumped from 8 and higher and managed it well so it's doable for sure. I really wish you luck, it's not going to be easy and I was like you, I couldn't taper so I bit the bullet, find something to inspire you when ever you feel the urge to give up and give you'r pills to someone maybe? Someone you would be too embarrassed to ask for them from.
