Oh, I'm so sorry. I was afraid of this. You could call your doctor and ask about getting a script for some Clonodine. It's a BP med that's used frequently for opiate withdrawals. Also, try to get as much exercise as you can. And hot baths. Otherwise, just try to stay as active, busy, and distracted as possible. And like I said earlier, if you need to post 17 times a day and use this as a journal while you are withdrawing, then do it! We know this is so hard for you, so do whatever you need to to get through this time. Just keep looking ahead to when it's all behind you - and it will be before you know it. Hang in there!

Hi, trailchick.

This is *just my opinion*-
but, no- I would wait it out and would not take the hydro.

And, as far as the Valium goes- I would ONLY take it if it is PRESCRIBED to you;
because SOME sub doctors just MIGHT not prescribe subs to patients who are positive
for benzodiazepines (which is what Valium is)- unless they have a prescription.

You COULD try some Immodium (loperamide).

You COULD also try some Valerian Root capsules- an herbal remedy that helps with anxiety and,
sometimes, even with sleep. From my experience (and I get piss-tested every month or so).
Valerian does NOT come up positive for anything, and neither does Immodium.

Disclaimer: Of course, I am NOT a medical professional.
I have been on subs for almost 7 years.

Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

I hope this helps.

Good Luck with your appointment-
it will be here before you know it.

Thanks Exorphin! I won't take anything, just wanted someone else's opinion! I am up to 18 hours now without anything, and I sure don't want to mess the induction up at the Dr.'s office in the morn!

Hey trailchick,

Hot showers or hot baths always helped me to feel a liitle better while in wd.

*sigh*, I'm sorry you're feeling so shitty. I remember pain pill wd well and it BITES!!

Try to keep your mind on tomorrow. Within 30 minutes of taking my first Suboxone dose, I felt GREAT. I remember turning to my wife and saying "I think it's starting to work!!", about 30 seconds later I was talking my head off to her and feeling great.

You're taking a big step forward in your life, unfortunately, you're gonna experience some wd first. Everyone on this board has gone through what you're going through, you're not alone!!! We all made it and YOU'RE gonna make it too!!

That is what I keep telling myself, tomorrow I will feel better! But it sure isn't helping me right now! One thing for sure I will never get myself into this mess again!! I was thinking on drinking one of my husbands beers to see if that would ease me off a wee little bit! Do you think that is a bad idea?

You know, if it were me, I'd probably take the valium. I'm curious, where are you on the COWS?

Hang in there. I know you can make it. You're very determined and it's already late afternoon. Before you know it you'll be heading to bed. :)

You can try the beer, I don't think it'll hurt ya?

Do you have a valid prescription for the Valium?? If so, take it. If you don't have a valid prescription and your doctor drug tests you, he "may" deny you Suboxone for having the Valium in your system??

Ummm, I may get blasted for saying this, but taking one Hydrocodone 5mg probably wouldn't hurt you as far as your induction goes.

To the best of my knowledge, seeing how high your COWS score is, taking a Hydro now will not hurt you once tomorrow morning rolls around.

The whole thing with Suboxone induction is to be in wd, it doesn't even have to be severe wd. I believe the powers that be suggest mild to moderate wd before starting Suboxone.

I agree with Romeo on the hydrocodone. It'll probably make you feel better, but it hopefully it won't help so much that it'll interfere with your induction.

Now, I am just being honest about what i would do in your situation. I would take a hydro, your body is used to getting the ms contin and hydro, if I would have read this thread earlier I would have told you to keep taking the hydro longer. I do not think taking a hydro now will hurt your induction, it most likely won't even get you out of withdrawl but lighten the symptoms some. You still have a ways to go and that 5mg hydro shouldn't affect you tomorrow or even tonight for that matter. Again this just what I would do, you will have to decide what's best for you.

As far as the valuing, it is fine. You are expected to have a dirty ua this time. Now after beginning sub it could be a problem if you didn't have a script. I took valuing the day of my withdrawl, I think it helped a bit.

I did go ahead and take hydro 5 mg. I still have 16 1/2 hours to go before induction! I really think that it is just going to knock off the edge! But that is it, no more for me! Just hoping for some sleep, I am so anxious can't lay down or even sit still.
I did take a hot shower, it took everything in me just to take my clothes off and put them back on. But it did help a little! Thank you for being here for me, I just don't think I could have got this far if I didn't have anyone to talk to that has been through what I am going through right now. My hubby is trying to be supportive, but he has no idea of what it is been on opiates! So I am so glad that I found You All!

Last Night was pure HELL! However I did manage to get a couple hours of sleep! Only because I took a Zanaflex that the Dr.s had prescribed for me a good while back. I am still feeling really bad! Thanks for checking on me! Less that 2 hours to go now! Thank the Lord!

See, I knew you could make it till morning. Hang in there - just a short time to go. You'll be feeling back to yourself again and hopefully "normal" again very soon. YOU CAN DO THIS. Keep us posted when you get back.
