Hello everyone! As the topic says, I'm new to the forum. Just thought I would take the time to introduce myself and tell y'all a little about myself. I'm a 25 year old male that has been struggling with addiction for about 2 years now. You see, my older sister started taking pills when I was about 19. She had a house, a car, and 3 kids. As time went one, I saw she had a problem. She lost her house, then her car, and then eventually her children. Thank god their fathers are good guys and have full custody of them now, because I wouldn't have wanted my sister to have them the way she was and still is today. When pills weren't doing enough for her, she graduated to higher drugs. She currently uses meth and heroin.. When I first started using, I thought to myself "There's no way I will turn into my sister, and no way in hell I will become addicted!". Boy was I wrong. It kind of comes out of nowhere to be honest. My drug of choice was hydrocodone. First I was taking them because it was fun, then I realized the drug had me... It's hard to finally admit that you have a problem. But I have always told myself that I will not move on to stronger opioids, and to this day I haven't. Anyways, when I realized I had a problem, i decided it was time to quit. I tried cold turkey two time before to no avail. The withdrawals have hindered me from getting through two days of hell. I have recently finally grabbed my balls and decided to go see a doctor for help. I went in yesterday and got a script for Suboxone Film 8mg- 2mg. He wrote it out for a supply of 30. I will go and pick them up tomorrow. Well, I know I went on for awhile, so I'll go ahead and sign off for now. May you all have success in recovery and hopefully I can do the same. Bye for now!

Hey thank you Kelly! And thanks for the warm welcome. I've been coming to this forum for awhile, just never took the step to sign up until yesterday. I've been reading a lot of posts and getting some pretty good info so far. I look forward to getting to know you and other members alike. I picked up my suboxone film today. Will look into other topics into proper procedures of maintenance. Being that I was prescribed the film I guess induction is not required? I will definitely count on the forum and expect to get invaluable knowledge and support. Bye for now!
