Hey, I've been on suboxone for about 7 months. A year of hydro use
prior to that.
It's been a few weeks since I have committed to taper off the
subs (strips) I'm down to .50 mg's daily. 25mg's in the am
- 25mg's again in the pm -when the w/d become too much. It starts to hurt around 10 or 11 hours later.
This is the least i can do & still function w/
my job .This is day 3 of that dosage.
Is this the proper way to do it? Should I wait until I can miss the
evening dose completely or start to cut each dose?
Sometimes the w/d seem hopeless, I'm fearful, emotional , etc...

Am I tapering correctly? What shud I expect as far as
when to jump?
Thanx..Mike

I've never gotten down that low myself. But when people hit these challenges, often a further dose split can ease the problem a bit. ie dosing 3 x daily instead of two. Maybe it would be worth a try?

Greetings, I have been tapering off 4 mg since Sept 2011. I am curently at .25mg once daily. I drop no more than 25% each time. It seems to me to be slightly more difficult the lower I go. By that I mean it takes me longer to stabelize. (it seems) I just keep on keeping on. So, my advise would be to decrease no more than 10-25% of your dose and then wait at LEAST 2 weeks or even a month before dropping again. Just listen to your body. If you are having trouble wait it out. I have thought about incresasing my dose before but that does not suport my goal, so I just push myself thru. Also I have gotten to a place where I felt I was not stabelzing so I would just make a small drop. Nothing gained nothing lossed. Eventually you will stabelize. hope this helps....Good luck and keep in mind that .50mg is pretty darned low. Be proud of your accomplishments..Keep up the good work....& good luck
